Well, he’s got the money but is he an American born citizen?
No, he was an illegal immigrant.
With only 3 weeks to go, perhaps we can start to watch the shenanigans taking place in the USA.
Trump is warning America of his intention post election.
“Donald Trump has provoked an angry backlash from Democrats after calling for the US armed forces to be turned against his political adversaries when voters go to the polls at next month’s presidential election.
In comments that added further fuel to fears of an authoritarian crackdown if he recaptures the White House, the Republican nominee said the military or national guard should be deployed against opponents that he called “the enemy within” when the election takes place on 5 November.
He singled out the California congressman, Adam Schiff, who was the lead prosecutor in the ex-president’s first impeachment trial, as posing a bigger threat to a free and fair election than foreign terrorists or illegal immigrants, his usual prime target for abuse.
Trump’s comments, to Fox News in response to a question on possible election “chaos”, triggered an angry reaction from Kamala Harris’s campaign, which likened them to previous remarks that he would be a dictator “on day one” of a second presidency and his suggestions that the US constitution should be terminated to overturn the 2020 election result, which he falsely claims was stolen by Joe Biden”.

This is why Rory Stewart thought she'd win.

It's actually quite moving - and really makes you think.
Hardly a landslide !
It’s a disgrace to humanity and women’s rights ! It shows how lost the USA is to the modern world when a despot like Trump is elected !

The relationship between Musk and Trump is going to be interesting. Two narcissists who both think the are going to rule America.
think?
I think Musk rules more than just America already.

So eloquently put by Rory
I couldn’t watch it. I put it on my iPad knowing it was going to restart at 5 am but woke up at seven dreading what I was going to hear when I turned it on. Once I knew I couldn’t listen to any more. I turned it off and tried to pretend it wasn’t real.
I've been reading these comments by Jameela Jamil, English actress and activist and not a Trump supporter by any means, who nevertheless is of the opinion that liberals made 10,000 mistakes and outlines some of those errors that got Trump elected.
Biden should have stepped down earlier, The White House and the media shouldn't have covered up his cognitive decline.
The left and the liberals have been an increasingly alienating, hypocritical , ostracizing and punitive party for 8 years. They drove their own support away.
They didn't listen to their voters on the Middle East and have been dishonest in ways that have cost them the trust of the public and then have been found out.
Democrats mandated Covid vaccines dismantling "my body, my choice" rhetoric. They spoke down to the very people they most needed to covert at every chance over the last 8 years.
Regarding Kamala Harris, she continued. "They chose a candidate to replace Biden who missed so many opportunities to address Policy in far too many interviews and just focused on the fact that she isn't him, they turned down both K and her V.P. going on Joe Rogan arguably the most important platform on the planet to convert a demographic.
People with big platforms waited until the day of the election to endorse and encourage people to go out to the polling station.
The liberals were so sure they could beat him. To the point many endorsed a third party candidate who didn't stand a chance against a man who had a 9 year rabid fan base.
They ignored young men and boys and demonized them rather than calling them in, leaving them to be indoctrinated by the far right.
Jameela was of the opinion that race and misogyny weren't the main reason Kamala lost the election and the real cause was lack of policy.
She, JJ attests that her heart is broken and that she is angry because the left had the power and opportunity to avoid this outcome
She concludes, Perhaps those politically left of centre, can see that self cannibalizing, punitive, morally superior, condescending and hypocritical approaches have not worked,
Whether you agree with her observations or not, I think she has hit the nail on the head in some of her perceptions in how the Democrats have possibly alienated those who could have been their potential voters.
She was a weak candidate and everyone knew that whilst pretending not to. It is interesting that the only person to have beaten Trump is Biden. This may actually all be Obama's fault.
He persuaded Biden not to stand in 2016 because he wanted Clinton. If Biden had stood and won, I think Trump wouldnt have tried again. But it is easy yo say what if.

Thank you for this. Yes, very moving. But optimism lost today, and I feel bereft. Not for me- mid 70s and had a very good innings. But I so fear for my grandchildren and all the young people out there, all over the world. They will all be affected but the terrible events of today.
Rory Stewart is a perfect example of why trump won. Utterly out of touch, so convinced of his own goodness and will never understand.

Imo you’re speaking about one of the most decent, honourable, intelligent human beings I’ve ever listened to….the complete opposite of Trump.
He is not as bad as Alistair Campbell to be fair but he will never in my view understand. He will continue doing the same thing over and over again and look bewildered when it doesnt work.
Trump intends to hike import tariffs from the UK to 10%. Some people might like to know what economists think of his actions.
From the ITV news page, today
*The price of UK exports to the US would inevitably rise but The National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR) calculates that domestic inflation would also climb by around 3.4 percentage points in 2025 as UK imports became more expensive, reducing the spending power of households and businesses.
NIESR assumes the Bank of England would have to respond by hiking interest rates, raising costs for companies and reducing their ability to invest.
NIESR estimates that economic growth in the UK would shrivel to 0.4% in 2025 (down from a forecast of 1.2%) and stall altogether in 2026. Unemployment would also rise.*
Not a good prospect.
I do agree with some of what Jameela Jamil says about alienating voters.👏🏻👏🏻
I wonder where this leaves Prince Harry in the US with his undisclosed drug taking past?
Perhaps the risk of a Trump presidency influenced his decision to buy a property in Portugal !

Agreed, have you read his book? I am half way through, and it is so enlightening, and terrifying too, about the lack of background knowledge about foreign policy and Middle Eastern history and background.

Especially as for the last 8 years, it has become more and more difficult and costly to export or import anything from the nearest countries in EU.
Maybe Nigel Farage will beg Trump to take pity on the Uk over import duty? No one else will have any influence?

Well, he is not a convicted felon, unlike the POTUS.
So Harry should be fine.

'America First' isn't just about UK imports though.
Anyway, I know Farage draws a lot of water, but he's possibly not the big-ship he thinks he is over there.
Dickens okay but Starmer and Lammy are not even in a rowing boat.
Amazing that some people are prepared to underplay what 10% tarifs on exports to USA will mean- after the massive losses re exports to EU for the last 8 years. And the poor value of Sterling also making everything so much more expensive.
I don’t think the situation with tariffs would have been different whatever UK government was in power Fleurpepper, because it’s about the USA becoming more prosperous. Of course it’s a loss to our economy, as no doubt it will be worldwide, as they look internally for growth.

Oh and those polls! Forecasting totally awry. Pretty embarrassing really. All that money, all this predictions. Might as well have tried reading the tea leaves. Cheaper and just as reliable.
👏👏
Are you sure KH intended to apply tarifs?
But the disaster is in the combination of the tarifs and other costs of exporting and importing from the EU. We were promised at the time that we would have a great commercial no tarifs deal with the USA to compensate for the above. We now find ourselves with a diabolical combination of the two- on top of the disastrous amount of debt left by 14 years of Tory management. The combination of all those is really really bad news for the UK.
