The reporting function isnt working at the moment. I am glad that people have pointed out I'm Wyllow3 and no one else. Some here know my POV but not all...

Is very concerning I know. I had this happen to me with a poster who said awful things about estranged parents, the polar opposite to me, with just the one number 0 changed to a O.
Will be vigilant and see if this poster posts again.

What a lot of nonsense it all is.

Musk, Trump, Farage and the like seem to have all the maturity of 14 year olds.

Quite so. And possibly it’s a combined maturity of 14 year olds. I’ve met a fair share of 14 year olds ever so much more thoughtful and capable than any of those three.

I don't think that engaging with Musk is the answer.. and could only escalate these accusations.. I think Starmer's approach is much more mature and sensible

Thank you to people. 🙂

Yes, don't mention and move on.

Those friendly with him until yesterday have learnt the hard way. Stab in the back.

But he has engaged. I really would have thought that the best way to deal with deranged accusations on Twitter/X would have been to ignore them.

I'm wondering why politicians are on these sites.

Kemi getting involved with Farage. Why?

Just ignore and get on with the job.

MayBee70 Mon 06-Jan-25 21:56:30

I’m not aware that Starmer has been engaging with Musk on X?

Have reported the difficulty with a willow3 and Wyllow3 to GNHQ.
I had a troll that used my name, simply changing one letter of my name.
May not be this but at least they know.

Thanks babs

That creature Stephen Yaxley-Lennon is a toad. He should get back under his rock.

No, he did not expose " grooming gangs" He jumped on a handy excuse to pedal his deeply unpleasant racist propoganda.

Well said!

Robinson is the kind of ‘patriot’ that could be found at the incited mob in the US smashing their way into government buildings when Trump lost the last election🤬in other words not the kind we want here.

I think Musk is just entertaining himself watching everyone's reactions. The way he played with Farage too. We're all just Musk's toys.

You could be right.
Perhaps he has a God complex.

I wonder why he is so 'concerned' about nations around the globe but not his own home turf, South Africa?

I'm deeply worried that Musk has attacked Fa😀😅😀

It’s getting to be like a comedy show - except it’s not that funny. What a world!

There an analysis on CNN today which is very interesting I think. Meanwhile Trump is posturing again about the USA taking over Canada.

Wyllow3 Tue 07-Jan-25 12:25:52

It's a very good article indeed Casdon. Asks how "official" Musks interventions are, and also later on looks at European reactions

"But the transatlantic fury might soon become a problem for Trump as well.

Despite his transactional instincts and desire to intimidate other leaders, Trump may need the help of American allies one day, and Musk’s antics are making it far harder for them to accommodate an incoming American president who is already deeply unpopular in many of their nations."

"Musk’s jabs might also cause problems stateside. They already look like a headache for more conventional US foreign policy officials, including Marco Rubio, the Florida senator Trump has picked to serve as secretary of state, and Florida Rep. Michael Waltz, his pick for national security adviser.

“I think it’s going to get very confusing very quickly. I don’t envy the career diplomats at the State Department, who are certainly going to have their hands full trying to figure out whose agenda they’re carrying out,” said Gorman.

Apparent conflicts between US policy and Musk’s business interests pose another complication. He has already sat in on calls between Trump and world leaders like Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose forces use Musk’s Starlink internet system to support their war against Russia.

Musk’s massive commercial exposure in China might also weigh heavily on Trump’s approach and may clash with the hawkish instincts of Waltz and Rubio, who are set to be part of the most anti-Beijing Cabinet in modern American history."

He left a long time ago- and his family were very probybly firmly on the side of Apartheid.

There must be records somewhere- I really want to know how and when he acqquired US citizenship, as he entered the USA as an illegal immigrant.

Wyllow3 Tue 07-Jan-25 13:12:11

Above board it seems - google

"Canadian passport: Musk applied for a Canadian passport through his Canadian-born mother to avoid South Africa's mandatory military service.
Immigration to the US: The Canadian passport made it easier for Musk to immigrate to the US.
Musk made his way out to Silicon Valley, gained legal authorization to work in the United States (he has spoken of obtaining an H-1B visa) and, with his brother, soon started Zip2, which helped businesses gain a presence on the Internet. (Musk became a U.S. citizen in 2002.)

It's the H-1B visa causing current controversy in the US.

Trumps policy of new zero immigration has been challenged by Musk as he wants to be able to specifically import techie talent - India and china have been named as possible fertile recruitment grounds.

Traditional Trump MAGA supporters are against this breaking of net zero immigration, and it wouldnt surprise me if some large food producers do challenge it too as food prices are very high in the USA and non documented labour make up a large part of cheap farm labour.

I see Musk has now launched a poll , asking if "U.S. should liberate Britain from tyrranical government " !
He gets more and more like a theme for a Monty Python sketch. Is the man suffering from some delusion ?

Really??? Hard to believe this could happen but if so, then imo it proves that Musk is totally deluded, power mad and even dangerous. It's actually scary to think what influence he might have on Trump, who, lets face it, is bad enough on his own.

Gogo84 Tue 07-Jan-25 14:59:52

Thank goodness that Musk cannot ever be President as he wasn't born in the USA. But perhaps his dear friend Trump will change that rule, just for him.hmm

Claremont Tue 07-Jan-25 15:44:34

Willow3, I have a lot of family in Canada- they can't just decide to acquire US nationality. One of my cousins went to work in NY and worked illegally for many years until there was an official armistice. A work Visa is not at all the same as acquiring nationality- which is a long and complex process.

Claremont Tue 07-Jan-25 15:48:54

Musk is not happy to be challenged on this. Last October, in Pennsylvania, he was asked about it

A question came from an audience member named Mark, who told the billionaire that it had taken “years and money” for his wife to be naturalized “the right way.” He then asked if Musk would talk about his experience with the immigration system. Musk seemed unprepared to address his own story and stammered a bit, saying: “Yeah, well, since your wife has gone through the, um, process of becoming a citizen and getting [a] Green Card, it’s — you’ve seen how absurdly slow and arduous it is.” He then quickly shifted into metaphors for how he wants immigration to work, saying we should think about it as picking people to join a company or sports team. “You know, it’s like, I mean, it’s like, if, like, if you have the opportunity to say, have like, you know, LeBron James or Steph Curry on your team, you’d be like, ‘Yeah, that would make total sense.'”

I wonder how he thinks the US can 'liberate' us?

Can you imagine the uproar from many on the Right if a wealthy European had suggested 'liberating' us from Brexit?

.Is the man suffering from some delusion

... the delusion of adequacy I think.
