Ok, so all of you who think we need a Trump here.... what is it that appeals?

I have been alarmed by the number of GN members who seem to seriously be calling for Trump like political leaders in the UK. Leaving aside his racism, bankruptcies, misogyny, sexual assaults, and my 'favourite', mocking a disabled reporter.....which of these executive orders do you find an attractive prospect;

Cancelling the price bar on insulin, was $35 per month, now forecast to be $1500 per month

Cancelling state funding of cancer research

KKK members in the South, roaming the streets, handing out 'go home' leaflets ( I understand this may be appealing to some)

Pardoning criminals who assaulted Police Officers

So, which of these appeals to you?

I would again direct you to actually watching and listening to Reform's Conferences and also to President Donald Trump's Inauguration Speech and you will then see that everything they are about and their values are what the majority of decent people share. There is nothing else to be said, it's all there, how the extreme left are ruining both America and the UK with their woke idealogy and anti-democratic ideas. Obviously you haven't bothered to find out and see just what a nice person Nigel Farage is. Again, your comments against us on here who support decent values are inflammatory, always trying to have a go at us under different headings. I am not going to waste any more time on your comments. There is nothing else to be said - get yourselves educated!

How do you know we haven't bothered to find out about Farage? Because we don't see him as you do? I'm sure most of us don't need to be told to get ourselves educated thank you.

Cossy

Well, I’ve got my cuppa and feet up waiting to read how great Mr Trump is.. I’ll send out for popcorn and ice-cream later. grin

Possibly, reading comments like yours, any GN members who do like DT will regard this as a goading thread and refuse to comply with the demand to explain themselves.
I wouldn’t blame them.

Latest news is Putin says he is willing to negotiate end of war with Ukraine.

He says if Donald Trump became President last time there would not have been a war.

That is great news.

Kate1949 Fri 24-Jan-25 17:42:49

I rarely join in with these sorts of threads but I don't appreciate being told to get educated because I don't agree with someone else's point of view.

We are educated JudyBloom. We also use the power of independent thought to make our own minds up, and we don’t all share the values you mention, or the way they choose to impose them.

The majority of decent people definitely do not support Farage, there are decent people everywhere supporting all the mainstream parties. Your post is offensive.

Primrose53 Fri 24-Jan-25 17:43:31

That is NOT in reply to Cossy by the way.

Agree Oreo
These threads, & many of the posts on them, are just goady, pure & simple.
So childish.
And they wonder why no one wants to play their silly games.

Barleyfields Fri 24-Jan-25 18:22:12

You’re a Trump supporter aren’t you? If I’m right there (and apologies if I’m not) why can’t you explain what you like about him? It isn’t a game. Why do you feel unable to explain what you like about Trump?

Is it, Primrose53, or is Putin saying that because he sees Trump endorsing Russia annexing Ukraine? I think we should reserve judgement until we know the terms of the deal.

Barleyfields Fri 24-Jan-25 18:29:32

Me too.

henetha Fri 24-Jan-25 18:35:06

There is nothing likeable about Trump.
I loathe him and think he's quite dangerous.
Just to be clear.

You really think a "deal" would give Ukraine its territory and sovereignty back?

It'll be interesting to see what is more important to Putin.. land or tariffs..

Me neither.

Offensive post JudyBloom.

woodenspoon Fri 24-Jan-25 19:29:27

I’ve no views on Donald Trump one way or other. However, a lot of people in the UK feel their concerns are brushed aside, accused of being racist if their legitimate concerns about immigration and its effect are ignored. They look enviously across the pond at Donald Trump, his policies, his strength of character and love him or loathe him they wish we had somebody like him here. Somebody who will get a grip and not deflect on silly inquiries which produce no tangible results and where deflection is used but nothing changes. That is what people are looking at and seeing with Donald Trump in my opinion.

Nonnato2 Fri 24-Jan-25 19:34:26

Silly games- goady! So we a criminal, supported by more criminals, and the KKK, has been elected. He and they are putting the whole world at risk, but we are not allowed to ask any question? Talk about free speech here! So some you approve of the KKK threatening people with violence, or so called Patriots attacking elected Senators and attacking and injuring police on duty. These are not silly games, they are dangerous, VERY dangerous.

And then some refuse to see the similarities with 1933.

I truly want to know what people admire in Trump- as I cannot see it.

This is no game. And pretending it is is very offensive.

Galaxy Fri 24-Jan-25 19:48:07

Of course it is a game - it is people on the internet disagreeing with each other.

Casdon Fri 24-Jan-25 20:01:59

It doesn’t matter really, people who want to talk about it can, and people who want to flounce can too.

Oh dear! get yourself educated

How rude, extremely patronising and makes huge assumptions.

Yes, I’ve heard Farage and Trump speak and make speeches several times.

Farage is a great orator and an entertainer , his values and mine (& many of my friends and family) are poles apart, and if they really represented the majority of the UK’s vision they would have far more than 5 MPs.

As for Trump, I have no real words, just as he doesn’t! Almost every speech or talk I have ever heard from Trump includes “bigly” building himself up as “smart, very very smart” along with threats and blustering.
