Donald Trump said his nephew’s disabled son should be left to die!

Today I listened to an interview with Donald Trump’s nephew, Fred Trump 111.

Fred gave an in depth insight into his uncle’s psyche - which is chilling! He said, in his experience, Donald isn’t able to show any empathy.

Fred has a son who was born with a genetic abnormality and, as a result, has severe physical and cognitive impairment. His name is William; he’s now 25.

Donald Trump has never met William. He has said to Fred, “why don’t you just let him die and you move down to Florida”.

Thoughts?

My thoughts are … sickening!

Well that sounds awful but it is pretty much what I think will happen with the assisted dying bill. I personally dont think either side gives much care to those with disabilities.

Smileless2012 Fri 07-Feb-25 21:41:21

Unbelievable shock.

imaround Fri 07-Feb-25 21:44:38

He has absolutely no empathy.

He has shut down food help and medical care for Seniors and low income and plans an ethic cleansing in GAZA. A disabled family member is of no consequence to him.

He is, in my opinion, a psychopath.

A typical psychopath trait: lack of empathy.
Not all psychopaths are mad axe killers. A high percentage work in finance.

I wish I could say I was shocked or surprised by this comment. It is quite clear that Trump is either a psychopath or sociopath, it doesn't really matter which, and a narcissist, so the idea that he would react any other way than the way he did is supportable.

Wyllow3 Fri 07-Feb-25 21:54:11

I think people with disabilities are going to see the "clock turned back" as regards work opportunities, benefits, and attitudes.

Kalm Fri 07-Feb-25 21:59:15

....someone in 1933 with a bad tash had the same view. So not surprised.

Aely Fri 07-Feb-25 22:00:12

Hi folks, I'm new on here.
I would go for Sociopath rather than Psychopath. Sociopaths have little or no understanding of other people's feelings and the most important person in their world is themself. I heard about Trump's nephew when he was President before and Trump's view of him didn't surprise me. Sociopath's use people. They don't have friends, they have useful contacts. I speak from experience! I think they are born like it.

maddyone Fri 07-Feb-25 22:02:46

That’s a shocking thing to say.
I think Galaxy makes a good point.

LizzieDrip Fri 07-Feb-25 22:04:47

I must admit when I heard the comment that Trump made about William, I thought ‘surely not’. I’m ever the optimist (or naive)🙈

So, I googled it and, yes, there’s a lot of information about it online. I hadn’t heard about it before.

It just makes me feel so sad that a man like this has immense power over the lives of millions of people.

M0nica Fri 07-Feb-25 22:07:00

Last word (see post above) should be un supportable.

Barleyfields Fri 07-Feb-25 22:10:00

I’m not in the least surprised.

You have seen and listened to Trump, haven't you 🤷‍♀️

LizzieDrip Fri 07-Feb-25 22:37:34

Yes petra but I still found it hard to believe that even he would be so heartless about his great nephew.

Clearly I was wrongsad

I’m not a supporter of Trump at all - I just thought he might have a speck of humanity.

Again - wrong!

Moonwatcher1904 Fri 07-Feb-25 22:49:31

I'd be interested to know if all the people who voted for him are of the same mind now with all the things he has or is going to propose.

I wonder how he'd feel if it was his child or grandchild?

Rosie51 Fri 07-Feb-25 22:54:51

Heartless and despicable. Like Galaxy I don't think people with disabilities are valued by authorities (and many people) of any side or persuasion.

Trumps attitude was not a lot different to the medical professional who said that if the suspicion of spina bifida was confirmed in my pregnancy I owed it to my other children and society to abort. I didn't, the baby was perfect!

B b but, he was a much better candidate than Harris, wasn’t he?

The number of regretful MAGA voters on Social media increases every day. The consequences of this is already affecting them. Some examples:

Fred Trump III says he shouldn’t have been surprised [about the comments about his son], since he had heard his uncle say something similar in an Oval Office meeting in 2020 with doctors and advocates for disabled rights.

“‘Those people’ Donald said, ‘The shape they’re in, all the expenses, maybe those kinds of people should just die.’”

You are joking, right ?!
He is creating a chaos that is a disgrace and he has a long history of callousness .

MayBee70 Sat 08-Feb-25 00:52:42

From what I’ve read about Trump he has a fear and loathing of any kind of disability sad.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 08-Feb-25 00:58:04

Yes lizziedrip I’d heard that about Trump in his first incarnation.

The man is a grotesque.

nanna8 Sat 08-Feb-25 03:23:01

Not good and I have to admit that it does remind me of a person who rose to prominence in the 1930s So does the assisted ( coersive?) dying bill, I think it is very, very dangerous.
