^Balancing personal loyalty to a self-described good friend with whom he's been on holiday against mounting public and political pressure.^
Would this be the same Keir Starmer (his deputy at the time) who claimed he only backed Jeremy Corbyn to become Prime Minister in the 2019 general election because he was certain that the left-wing Labour leader’s bid was doomed anyway. He was grilled by Beth Rigby who described his “catalogue of broken promises and changed positions”.
I can believe what he said about Corbyn. Given how many of us in the LP felt the same.
Show me any long term prominent political leader who hasn't changed positions! Its called politics.
