Israel attack on Iran
(638 Posts)This is a serious situation. Netanyahu has gone against advice from the US and has attacked Iran.
Iran will retaliate and Israel has closed down today waiting for the attack.
Although the US has distanced itself from this only warning Iran not to target US bases it's inevitable that they may get pulled into this war.
Why do Tyrants feel that it is okay to bomb hospitals? Yes looking at you Putin, Netanyahu and Khamenei
Petra, looks like the 'Trump mole' pile on has been busted as well.

growstuff I can tell you straight from the (officer’s) horses mouth they dread that more than the current situation.
Let's hope we don't need to face that.

Eyes and ears closed on Hamas
These Hamas tunnels, how long are they? A couple of feet/metres? Miles long? Does anyone know?
Are they longer than the length of a hospital?
Mr Netanyahu, with all of the sophisticated surveillance technology at the IDF's disposal, your forces could only locate those Hamas tunnels underneath the short length of a hospital? Not as they extended for miles beyond?
Or were you deliberately targetting hospitals?
Which scenario do you think the Court believes?
How much more sensible it would be if the situation was resolved through an agreement over non-proliferation.
Bombing will only achieve - if it achieves anything - the possible destruction of the current infrastructure. There will be nothing agreed about future development of nuclear power.
Just get around the b…y table Trump and stop grandstanding.

I don't believe for one moment that Netanyahu "trusted" Hamas - he thought he could outwit them.
Gaza doesn’t feel so good trusting them
If Netanyahu trusted Hamas, he was an idiot - and I don't believe for one moment that Netanyahu is an idiot. He's probably one of the most wily political operators around. Netanyahu used Hamas to divide Palestinians. Both are against Fatah, who are in favour of a two-state solution. Netanyahu thought that by keeping Hamas on his side, he could isolate Fatah.
With hindsight he was an idiot but it seemed a solution at the time 15 yrs later their true intent was revealed, so now can any Palestinian ever be trusted.
Even worse is targeting Aid stations!
Seriously, has Netanyahu totally lost his mind?
He’s put his own people and many many innocent people internationally by his attacks on both Gaza and Iran.
No, yet again, I don’t support terrorism or kidnap and I’m not antisemitic.
I am scared!

No, he wasn't an idiot. He didn't trust Hamas. He knew all the time what Hamas was like and what some of their leadership wanted. He thought he could use them for his own purposes and could keep them under control. I don't know why you keep going on about trust because I don't believe for one moment that he ever trusted them. Netanyahu himself plays that game and claims Hamas can't be trusted because he made a strategic error in his control strategy, but he's not going to admit that.
It’s clearly not a defence of Hamas

From the information I have been given,, this is a new arrival of 12 more tonight.
It looks as if your information I have been given bubble has been busted. 😂
I'm puzzled.
"Twelve F-22 Raptors out of Langley AFB are en route to RAF Lakenheath as #TABOR51 (x4), #TABOR61 (x4), and #TABOR71 (x4), to be deployed to Muwaffaq Salti AB." was reported and tracked on 18th June.
Information is freely available on flight tracking websites.

This is not the kind of war where millions of untrained foot soldiers can be used as cannon fodder. What is needed is highly trained precision pilots and drone operators.
What we need is diplomacy!!

Exactly growstuff maybe all the youngsters who have spent hours playing computer games and hobbyist drone flyers will be in great demand…
What on earth is the matter with us.
Just listen to our posts.
Hobbyist drone flyers! Gamesters!
Those drones etc will kill people like your children and grandchildren.
This will never come to any good. All it will bring is misery and destruction to no end.
Listen to Tony Benns speech against the war in Iraq, everything he said came true.
The UN Charter recognised this futility and was set up to prevent it.
People like Netanyahu who ignore its intentions are fools indeed and no good will ever come of his warmongering.
Bravo, defence of Hamas , I don’t agree but accept your choice
Oh dear.
This is why situations like this will probably never be solved; criticism of Israel = Antisemitism or defence of Hamas, which is clearly not the case.
Of course, GN opinion won’t solve anything but, I think, there are many people who also believe that spurious claim!
But often non intervention or delayed intervention is also a disaster and costs lives.
We have just recently been advised to listen to AC one of the architects of the Iraq war so that seems a bit contradictory.

My comments were tongue in cheek Whitewavemark2
You know my family involvement in our armed forces, black humour is rather prevalent at the moment, it allows a respite from the fearful thoughts.
Whitewavemark2 I think there was more than a touch of irony in GrannyGravy's post. The point she and I were making is that it is highly unlikely that there will be general conscription in the UK.
Cross post! GrannyGravy explained herself.
