In fact some of us have been quite critical of Biden - but he's out of office now, so we're debating Trump.

Trump is despicable for lots of reasons. Apart from the politics - he lies... and he mocks people's disabilities and dead soldiers (even more despicable because he himself has never served his country in the military). That's apart from the pussy-grabbing - a trait which irons him out as a misogynist.

... oh, and BTW, we are not all left-wing, far from it.

Once I start to see posters throwing out childish insults I tend to ignore the posts and posters.

Balanced and criticism without insults is a much better way to get one’s point over.

I am proud to be an American. Try living here before you make assumptions. I have lived in the UK also, and I know which I prefer.

I'm a dual Citizen of the US and UK. Born and raised in the US. Moved to the UK in 2009, so I feel I can confidently speak on this subject. Though, I really think it's stretching things a bit far to think that you must be resident of a country to have an opinion on it. If that were true, well...it would not just be trump's America, it would be trump's world. I prefer the UK. That helps give us a good balance.

Fact: Barack Obama gave Iran 1.7 billion that they used to fund their nuclear program
Fact: Joe Biden unfroze over $16 billion of fun’s for Iran.

Fact: President Trump consulted with his chiefs of staff and top military advisers before coming to this decision.

Fact: you don’t put a stealth mission to a vote - hence the word stealth.

Fact: the US military only bombed uranium targets which was the sole intent of the mission.

That’s not all entirely true. The funds returned to Iran were those that had been frozen. The funds belonged to Iran and were returned in exchange for an agreement made by Obama regarding control of nuclear development. The agreement worked until Trump tore it up. You’re welcome to believe Trump’s lies.

It's marginally better but it's not a great thing for democracy. Especially paining your political opponents as traitors and emboldening far right gangs to run amok. I worry that there will not be an election again after Trump is put out to pasture and Peter Theils boy Vance is in charge.

He's crossed a lot of norms and lines. That'd be just one more. He obviously has contempt for the democratic process. We'll see won't we. I just wonder how bad he has to be before right wing people see the problem.

Loads. What problem is there with you not resorting to whatabouttery? I am 100% against theocracy in any form. Rounding up people while dressed like a paramilitary soldier with no checks and balances is the sort of thing I associate with theocracies and dictatorships. We have the rule of law. Do you disapprove of that if Trump doesn't like it? Is this a hill you really want to die on?
