I would like to see Corbyn back to lead a really moral, really socialist Labour party. I am afraid Labour is too populist . We must have taxation sufficient to pay for decent social care, NHS, and education.
What matters is what the ordinary non-aligned voter on the street will vote for.
You can be a party where every member is a sea green incorruptable, with left wing socialist views that breathe out odours of motherhood and apple pie with every sigh, but if the elctorate as a whole do not like your policies or what they stand for and will not vote for you, you might as well go back to bed and stay there.
I find it incredible that the Labour party and its acolytes, which, more than any other party, started as a party that represented the average working man, has gradually migrated to become the party most at the mercy of, what are essentially, authoritarian extremists, who believe that they have a monopoly on knowing what is best for us, and we should all do as they tell us.
Thank goodness that nowadays, with universal suffrage, the majority of people will just leave them to crawl down their own little worm holes. Corbyn's record of dirty dealings and treachery make the idea that any group he leads as being really moral, a non-starter.
All parties must be populist. Being populist means being democratic and offering people policies they will vote for. To do anything else, is a jpurney to oblivion or dictatorship.
