It is very difficult to understand what is really happening and what are lies being perpetrated by Israel or Hamas. Add to this reporting restrictions and it is surprising we know as much as we do.

So Gazan young men grabbing the food and making money out of the sheer misery of starving babies and children is the fault of Israel too? No-one is denying that stopping aid getting in is wrong but these young men should be ashamed of themselves. They should be helping to distribute it to their weaker fellow citizens.

I don’t get into emotional spats on forums.

AGAA4 Tue 29-Jul-25 11:01:07

Free speech is not allowed? Worrying.

Oreo Tue 29-Jul-25 11:01:51

Thank you Allira as that point doesn’t sink in with everyone.

Free speech is allowed but not endorsements or support for a terrorist group made in public.

AGAA4 Tue 29-Jul-25 11:04:12

Indeed.

Thank you Maremia and apologies to Whitewave. Not sure how I missed that. It is good to see that Israelis are beginning to see and understand what this dreadful Netanyahu government is doing.

Or Could be Israelis understand what their government is doing, they must be so fear of the horrors of 7th October 2023
again and more

If the situation of genocide didn’t exist the opportunity to behave as they are would be less.

There are individuals with that sort if mentality in every country on earth.

This is what is said about the Hamas massacre

“The Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on 7 October 2023 included horrific crimes and marked a terrible milestone in a long history of violence and killing. The report addresses the deep trauma experienced by Israelis that day, and the Israeli hostages, some of whom are still being held in Gaza. Our analysis shows how the Israeli government has cynically exploited the trauma experienced by many Israelis and used it to carry out genocide and ethnic cleansing in the Gaza Strip.

One crime does not justify another – certainly not the mass killing of civilians or an attempt to erase and destroy an entire group. There is nothing that can justify genocide, and starvation and destruction have nothing to do with self-defense. The only way to ensure that the horrors of 7 October do not recur is to immediately stop the annihilation, and demand equality, justice, freedom and security for all the people living between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.”

Yes, I realise that but there are so many of them, obviously not starving and apparently making money while we are shown pictures of skeletal babies and children.

I will not comment further as others seem to think what they do is fair enough.

More like the only way to ensure that the horrors of 7th October do not recur is to annihilate hamas as completely as is humanly possible.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 29-Jul-25 11:28:36

Agree.

But let’s not pretend as the post appeared to imply that it is unique to Gaza

Whitewavemark2 Tue 29-Jul-25 11:29:28

There are clearly Israelis who most certainly do not agree with your statement.

Well, you may think that but Europe, America, Middle East, etc. etc. do not agree.

They all recognise starvation, and in most cases genocide when they see it.

Oreo Tue 29-Jul-25 11:32:08

There are clearly Israelis who don’t agree with many things, and why should they? We don’t all agree on things here in the UK do we? Do you imagine Israel is any different, do you think all Jews think alike, a homogeneous mass?

That was published by an Israeli Jewish group, who clearly disagree with the Netanyahu government.

.

You simply cannot deny the oppositions existence in Israel. They do exist and are eating louder.

Israel has lost so much as a result of their conduct of this war. It is a tragedy .

Allira Tue 29-Jul-25 11:35:49

I said I wouldn't comment but the last thing for the poor people of Gaza need is for their own young men to grab the food aid and turn their utter misery into a money making exercise.

Even here in WW2 people were not that desperate for food - it was rationed and yes, we knew about spivs and black marketeers (a neighbour was one) but there were not so many and people had enough rations to survive.

They should be utterly ashamed. 🤬

Whitewavemark2 Tue 29-Jul-25 11:36:45

Off out now on a jolly so signing off.

Seems victims are to blame for any attack on them, familiar?
girls in short skirts are asking to be rasped, shops deserve to
have goods stolen for displaying them

Iam64 Tue 29-Jul-25 11:46:28

This dreadful ongoing devastation of the Gaza Strip and Palestinian people makes so many of us despair, no wonder irritability finds its place here

Of course Jewish people in Israel and anywhere in the world have different views.

AGAA4 Tue 29-Jul-25 11:56:11

I just don't understand how anyone can support a regime that uses starvation as a weapon. To see those emaciated little children is horrific. Our own PM has said the same.

Senior members of the Israeli government are convicted criminals.
I wonder how long a convicted criminal would last in our government or many others.
