It is very difficult to understand what is really happening and what are lies being perpetrated by Israel or Hamas. Add to this reporting restrictions and it is surprising we know as much as we do.

I just don't understand how anyone can support a regime that uses starvation as a weapon. To see those emaciated little children is horrific. Our own PM has said the same.

Senior members of the Israeli government are convicted criminals.
I wonder how long a convicted criminal would last in our government or many others.

I don’t understand how Hamas is free from condemnation.

What crimes were senior members of Israeli government convicted of ? were they sentenced to imprisonment or fined ?

Must be a court case and if found guilty a punishment

AGAA4 Tue 29-Jul-25 12:11:52

Hamas is not free from condemnation.
Ben Gzir and Smotrich senior members of Knesset have both been convicted of Incitement to Racism and Incitement to Violence.

Free speech is not allowed? Worrying.

Free speech is allowed but not endorsements or support for a terrorist group made in public.

But free speech is allowed to endorse a Governement committing a genocide? What a totally messed up world we live in.

And what gives anyone the right to call anyone 'ridiculous' for refusing to support this genocide.

Ben Gvir is just diabolical and was condemned.

The others will be, their time will come I am sure.

If no one has mentioned it:

Labour Party Cabinet Meeting

2pm today

Should we recognise Palestine as a State

Crucial vote, hoping we can follow other nations.

Wyllow3 Tue 29-Jul-25 13:53:25

(thats thanks to my partnership with my elderly Welsh Friend, who is thinking all the time of little else I believe, except his loved ones*

I have asked him to put me in touch with a lady who can give me a list of people we should send emails to. I'll then put together the letter I drafted, and to whom it could be sent

Wyllow3 Tue 29-Jul-25 13:56:57

Diaries out - for this summers action plans for those of us who can go to demonstrations and gatherings.

Maremia Tue 29-Jul-25 13:58:03

Thanks Wyllow3. Just like Whitewave, I am heading out just now.
Will drop back in later. Will also look out for your list of email addresses.

Wyllow3 Tue 29-Jul-25 14:07:29

I've found the person who might give me a comprehensive list, Maremia I expect most of that group are waiting for this afternoons result. I'm just having to be careful how much I ask of my friend, he really is elderly.

It's in their own interests for Israel to drag their heels and make it difficult for aid to.get in to Gaza. They are still using food deprivation as a weapon.

So they are, let anyone deny this here!

AGAA4 Tue 29-Jul-25 14:53:30

Wyllow3 Unfortunately I can't attend demonstrations due to health issues making standing and walking difficult. I will be with those who can go in spirit as I feel strongly about this issue.

As so often, you have got posts muddled up.
My remark to AGAA4 about a ridiculous IMO comment was about the proscribed group Action Palestine and nothing to do with supporting ( or not) Israel and anything they’re doing.
And yes, free speech is allowed to support Israel or not as you choose.
You’re welcome btw I don’t expect an apology for your mix up.

Wyllow3 Tue 29-Jul-25 15:10:30

I wondered if we could share contact numbers between those of us who are interested as to whom to target with emails.

Of ourselves, an email doesnt have to be long and formal, It could be "stop starving innocents" and so on.

I've run out of energy now as had a full on day.. but heres a start.

Keir Starmer
Here is a page that gives you a direst way to email Keir:

Or use

Or - foreign office

Olivia Blake MP Sheffield Hallam (pro palestinian state et al)
Phone Number: 0207 219 3552
[email protected]

Sarah Champion MP for Rotherham (pro palestinian state et al)
One of the key figures - just today on X

PM to set out path to recognising Palestinian state this week. We need immediate recognition, not a ‘path’. Knesset has voted for Annexation & on 6th August final planning stage on E1, a settlement that will encircle East Jerusalem preventing 2 states

Thank you Wyllow for finding the emails and phone numbers.
Hoping for positive news from the Gaza meeting this afternoon.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 29-Jul-25 16:12:43

I’m waiting for a reply from my MP, and a.so waiting to hear what todays decision will be.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 29-Jul-25 16:13:36

wyllow3 Sterling work - thank you 😊

Maremia Tue 29-Jul-25 16:17:31

Kudos Wyllow3. That's a great list.

Wyllow3 Tue 29-Jul-25 16:35:14

Can anyone add to it - you just google a name, and "contact information" and it should take you to the emails and numbers,

or type the MP's name, and add .gov

eg

Sarah Champion.gov

goes to the information.

She really is a key person - I player news has just said she stated

""I really hope the cabinet realises there will never be a perfect moment to recognise the state of Palestine.
"What we do have, however, is the perfect storm to prevent a two-state solution ever happening - with the Knesset passing a motion for annexation and a likely ruling the 6 August allowing settlements to encircle East Jerusalem which will divide the West Bank for ever.
"It is now or never if we believe in Palestinians's right to recognition."

Still waiting.......

Of course key figures are all "Waiting to see" but it would be good to know who is a skeptic and needs persuading

(All my Local LP MP's are Pro "Palestine a State" so in a way its not as useful)

Wyllow3 Tue 29-Jul-25 16:37:19

Maybe the voices here who say, "I can't stand another death by starvation" or I cant bear to see people shot trying to get food"

Are more powerful than careful analysis? Out of the head, into the heart?

Wyllow3 Tue 29-Jul-25 16:40:13

It's just the voices in my head from my parents "if somethings wrong, you CAN do something about it - " If you just let them walk over you, its your choice"

personal and political....has made me a born "try to make change" tho I do overdo it in details and being a pest.

AGAA4 Tue 29-Jul-25 17:00:24

The UK will recognise the state of Palestine in September. It's up to Israel now to agree to conditions.
