Not always a fan of Piers Morgan, and he used to be a supporter os Israel. Here is is saying that we all know why Israel does not want foreing independent Journalists there- because Israel does not want us to see what is truly going on.

Piers Morgan is not my first go to, but like Morgan I have gone on a journey from being a strong supporter to a strong critic.

They didn’t say the child was starved, Hamas said the child was
starved , the child was very ill with a physical health condition

Yes Annie, you’re right about that photograph. But imo, that doesn’t mean children and adults aren’t facing malnourishment, displacement and terror.

Hamas do give out false information as do Israel.
This doesn't mean that the situation in Gaza isn't dire. Children are starving and dying.
Do you think that the UK, France and Canada would take the huge step of declaring Palestine a state if this was not happening?

Reading that there is an argument that Gaza does not meet the criteria to be able to declare it to be a state. So it may be breaking international law.

That will play out over the coming months no doubt.

Re- the photo.

I have seen many, many photos of starving children, toddlers and tiny babies.

I don’t post them because in my view it is poor taste, and frankly we don’t need to see them to know that it is happening.

We can intellectualise what we are reading, data etc.

People are starving in Gaza.

Israel put in a total blockade of everything in May - including water😮. The Palestinians have done well to last as long as they have, but there is a limit and that limit has been reached.

I am a little hopeful that the world will force open the border for aid, but it is a tiny hope.

Palestine is already recognised as a state by over 100 countries. There isn't some global judge who hands out a certificate stating a place is officially a state. Individual countries can make their own decisions. It is probably that the US will veto any UN recognition. Meanwhile, it's largely a symbolic gesture - it's not going to make much practical difference, apart from rattling Israel and the US.

This is Trump's response to Canada's announcement:

"Wow! Canada has just announced that it is backing statehood for Palestine. That will make it very hard for us to make a Trade Deal with them. Oh’ Canada!!!"

He obviously thinks he can threaten/bribe Canada with a trade deal.

I don't really care what you believe.

I do believe what doctors (some British) have witnessed with their own eyes.

FWIW I don't need to see photos of atrocities such as child abuse to believe it happens.

Two major Israeli human rights organizations, B’Tselem & Physicians for Human Rights, officially declared Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, citing bombs targeting civilians, displacement, and deliberate starvation. The first time the Gaza genocide is called out from within Israeli society.

And why are they allowing aid drops by air and issuing releases about increasing the number of lorries they're allowing?

We don't know if those parents wanted the photos of their children on the internet.
Unscrupulous people will take photos and post them on possibly for money. Whitewave was right to not post them on here.

From October 2023 Hamas has posted photographs. I certainly do not believe for money. Why did the mothers posed with their children?
