Much as I dislike Trump I believe he might have enough influence to achieve this.

Wyllow3 Sat 13-Sept-25 09:37:24

Hmm, try again.

Wyllow3 Sat 13-Sept-25 09:56:29

Not giving up!

Oreo Sat 13-Sept-25 10:05:05

Why post a pic of a seriously ill child three times?

Wyllow3 Sat 13-Sept-25 10:05:29

And let no one forget this truth.

Self evident, Oreo

Wyllow3 Sat 13-Sept-25 10:07:38

And don't dodge the meaning of the image.

it is what it is

Oreo Sat 13-Sept-25 10:08:35

Wyllow3 your ideas that if Palestine had been a State then the murderous invasion by hamas would never have happened are just suppositions on your part. The Palestinians would still have hated Jews and wanted them out.
This conflict is entirely of hamas and it’s supporters making.

Wyllow3 Sat 13-Sept-25 10:10:48

Yes, a seriously ill child being posed for the camera. There were a few children with various serious medical conditions who were taken from Gaza to other countries to be treated and I hope this child was one of them.

Yes, a seriously ill child , no more no less

Not giving up!

I despair.
I truly despair.
And yet the denials persist.

Babs03 Sat 13-Sept-25 10:15:36

Shame on those who are denying the obvious. If anyone denies the Holocaust is deplorable. Denying this is just as bad.

A serious ill child, no one has denied this, cause of illness unknown,

So all the babies and children dying from starvation have serious illnesses. You’re right, they do, it’s called starvation.
Am not sure how you continue to deny this but I suppose human beings are capable of self deceit when the reality is just too awful.

Babs03 Sat 13-Sept-25 10:25:20

Thanks Wyllow.

Oreo Sat 13-Sept-25 10:25:59

Babs03 and any others, babies and young children in Gaza who had serious medical conditions were taken into other countries for treatment, even as far away as Italy.Which was absolutely the right thing to do.If there was a war here and now there would be babies and children with life threatening medical conditions and we would hope they would be allowed safe passage to a neighbouring country too.The sad photos you see are posed without any information as to the illness to try and give the impression that all young children are starving to death in Gaza. Very ill children are being used for propaganda purposes.
Try enlarging any street pictures taken on mobile phones by Gazans and you’ll see that adults and children are not emaciated like the pic of the Israeli hostage in the tunnel, who truly has been starved deliberately.

If you won’t see this then you won’t.🤷🏼‍♀️

AGAA4 Sat 13-Sept-25 10:27:48

What serious illness does this child have.?You seem to know. I will take the word of British doctors who have been treating children with serious malnutrition. One said that you never want to see starving children.
It must be heartbreaking for the medics.

Babs03 Sat 13-Sept-25 10:30:38

As Wyllow said - no comment.
No point.

I find using one photograph of a child posed for the camera is sickening,

That last sentence I find unbelievably naive.

Oreo Sat 13-Sept-25 10:38:45

There is malnutrition in Gaza, which means poor nutrition which occurred with the aid blockade earlier this year, there isn’t mass starvation in Gaza. Palestinians stealing aid and selling it for extortionate prices in the markets didn’t help.
Poor nutrition alongside serious medical conditions are what’s causing some sad deaths but poor nutrition alone doesn’t cause deaths.
In any war or conflict, this will happen. The worst cases were and are still being taken to other countries where possible.

Oreo Sat 13-Sept-25 10:46:28

valdavi if there’s one thing I’m not, is naive.
I wrote that as hamas have been the governing body in Gaza for a long time and instead of using all the money and resources that flowed their way to make life better for Gazans they have done the opposite.Encouraged people to hate Jews and Israelis in particular from a very young age, if you don’t believe that then do some googling on the subject.Spent massive amounts on weapons, propaganda to their own people and tunnels everywhere.Subjugated Gazans to the point of everyone being afraid of them while recruiting as young as possible to their own hate filled cause.
All culminating in the invasion of Israel on October 7th 2023.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 13-Sept-25 11:08:06

Denying malnutrition on a massive scale together with starvation in Gaza is misinformation which encourages people to turn their back on the suffering, and gives Israel the freedom to inflict even more evil onto men women and children, whose only crime is to live in Gaza. That in my opinion is a crime almost as bad as the act itself.

MSF, Save the Children and Oxfam are amongst the hundreds of aid agencies who have warned of the severity of the suffering in Gaza.

There will be a whole generation who will be both physically and cognitively affected for the next 60+ years.
