Honestly, you can't make it up! It would be 🤣 if it wasn't so appalling.

Dinghies coming into Great Yarmouth, RIGHT NOW,’ the former Reform member wrote on social media

Authorities alerted, and I am urgently chasing. If these are illegal migrants, I will be using every tool at my disposal to ensure these individuals are deported

So who was it?

But the vessel pictured was, in fact, an ocean rowing boat crewed by ROW4MND, a team of four who are attempting to row from Land’s End to John O’Groats to raise money for motor neurone disease

In there meantime, have a look at these dangerous "illegals"

could Lowe perhaps have just for a minute thought of maybe asking the authorities to check the boat out? You know, a telescope ?

It made me laugh, I was imagining him feverishly spending hours looking out to sea, eyes stuck to his binoculars, so he could get a coup!

Wyllow3 Fri 08-Aug-25 18:35:58

Who next? A family out for a trip for the afternoon, skin the "wrong" colour? A summer school trip out to sea, that happens to have non white teenagers in perhaps?

He's totally paranoid

GrannyGravy13 Fri 08-Aug-25 18:38:13

He apologised on social media for his mistake as soon as the boat was identified and donated £1,000 to the rowers charity…

That’s OTT
The colour didn’t come int it, his constituents alerted him to this particular boat.
It was pretty funny and gave the rowers a laugh.
I don’t think there’s any migrants in The Wash, they tend to come over the Channel but you never know!😁

Casdon Fri 08-Aug-25 18:41:57

I should hope so GrannyGravy13, otherwise the vigilantes would have been out to lynch them. It’s very irresponsible to post things like that on social media, letting the police and coastguard know his concerns, yes of course, but not making it public.

So it was worth it for the Charity.😃

Yes I agree.

I rather think the paranoia is with you Wyllow3 in your constant efforts to decry anything to do with illegal entry to the country. RL did state in his second paragraph the words if this is true, which one can only assume he wasn't sure but was getting it checked out ?

Spinnaker Fri 08-Aug-25 18:46:09

Sorry the words were if these are illegal immigrants

GrannyGravy13 Fri 08-Aug-25 18:52:41

Wyllow3 he did alert the authorities.

And how much did the interception cost?

He’s a total t***

Far from it Spinnaker

Any responsible person would alert the Authorities.

Have you actually really forgotten what happened in Southport when someone posted irresponsible lies on Social Media

And this is from an MP, for goodness sake!

Wyllow3 Fri 08-Aug-25 19:36:36

It. is, de facto, encouraging vigilantism. Next time someone with the standing of an MP reports this sort of thing on Social Media - is supposedly have some credibility..

...some idiots might take a boat or two out to take matters into their own hands to go out there with their "friends", whipped up by passing the incorrect message on.

Deedaa Fri 08-Aug-25 19:38:31

He admitted he was wrong, but that's not the same as an apology.

His allegations had got people stirred up on the beach and it could have turned quite nasty. Report whatever you want to the police or the coastguard, but jumping onto social media with no proof is completely irresponsible.

LizzieDrip Fri 08-Aug-25 20:05:57

What a sad, little man he is; looking out to sea for rubber dinghies; whipping up a frenzy on SM.

I agree with Jaxjacky, he’s a t***!

Get a life man!

😂😂😂

I'm remembering the crowds on Plymouth Hoe watching Sir Francis Chichester coming in after his round-the-world solo trip. I was there, but just as well Rupert Lowe was only a primary schoolboy then!

I can only add:

"Should have gone to Specsavers".

Wyllow3 Fri 08-Aug-25 22:44:17

Frankly its pathetic at on level, at another, making announcements on Social Media and by passing the paper channels is actually a very very dangerous thing to do given the current situation and the power of Social Media.

Says he's sorry - pull the other one - it was a deliberate act to report on social media - shells out a thousand quid -

meanwhile gets loads of publicity whipping up more hatred.

Wyllow3 Fri 08-Aug-25 22:45:04

proper channels not paper channels.
