It was thought that Hamas had placed a camera on the roof of the hospital and that Israeli troop movement was being filmed.

Of course they had.
And of course you believe that though I doubt you will believe the avalanche of reports to the contrary.
I remember when they bombed an aid convoy they said they thought a Hamas operative was by the side of the road.

Why are people on here defending this when even Netanyahu is saying he regrets it. Are people really to the far right of Netanyahu?

It has been widely reported that Israeli military data says 83% (50K approx) of those killed in Gaza by the IDF were not Hamas operatives.

283 journalists killed in Gaza since 7/10, more than in any other war or conflict.

1400 medical workers killed in Gaza

All the above are supposed to be protected under the Geneva convention

Geneva convention rule 53 says starvation of civilians is a war crime.

If you support Israel's war in Gaza, at what point would it become impossible for your support to continue?

Even in a war civilian lives have to be protected as far as possible, aid delivered, and safe routes away from any bombing assured. Hospitals and vehicles displaying hospital or aid signs on the roof should not be fired upon, neither should those clearly displaying the fact they are journalists.
The Israeli forces have state of the art weaponry and the very latest technical tools to differentiate between the enemy and civilians to the extent that armies around the would seek their expertise.
Mistakes can happen but can the Israeli army really be so grossly incompetent that all it really does is make fatal mistakes.

This is the worry.

It appears that Israel is attempting to eradicate as many journalists as possible from Gaza city, ahead of their occupation of the city and the ethnic cleansing of inhabitants.

No one is rejoicing in the deaths of journalists or civilians in this war. What I find difficult to understand is why more support is not being given to Israel to bring this war to a halt. I want Israel to win. For Hamas to continue in Gaza is unconscionable. Why is the West unable to say this?

Good question, seems the world supports Hamas

There seems to be an inexhaustible supply of journalists working for Hamas in Gaza being sacrificed.

Because we don't want Israel to win as all it wants to do is take over the whole of Palestine. There will never be peace there.

Nobody supports Hamas but the world is not going to just stand by whilst genocide is committed.
If you find it hard to comprehend this imagine the fatalities in Gaza as cuddly white Christian’s or Jews, would you feel differently about so many deaths and now starvation if the people were non Muslim?
Certainly if Putin did this in the Ukraine the world would be outraged. And we are taking about Putin here. War crimes have been committed by him but what if those crimes were on a similar scale or vice versa if Zelensky was doing this to innocent Russians.
Why is what happens to Palestinians so different, this for me is the problem.

I don’t think that Israel is deliberately starving civilians but the msm keeps repeating this and we believe what is fed to us. Hamas/Iran/Hezbelloh/Houthis are all fighting Israel - when are we going to step up and help?

A terrorist organisation like Hamas thrives on oppression and adversity and the more the Palestinian people are crushed with no hope of a future, the more likely it is that some will join a terrorist group. Netanyahu isn't stopping Hamas he is acting as their recruitment agent. It's utter madness!

Netanyahu will never beat Hamas or other groups that feel oppressed. Hamas finds glory in the death of a warrior. They will have fled by now to build up their organisation again.

Surely Israel should build up their defences that were woefully inadequate in the Hamas attack in 2023. They must have spent huge amounts and the lives of IDF soldiers lost.
The attack was dreadful but Israel failed to protect their people or come to their defence in time.

So fault lies with Israel, a country attacked is at fault for not protecting itself!

Netanyahu's biggest mistake was thinking he could prevent a two state solution by playing the PA against Hamas, and enabling Hamas to become stronger so they could be a better balance. This is well documented, I have provided links to Netanyahu actually saying this to members of Likud on a number of occasions so I won't post it again. I am in no way defending Hamas but Netanyahu emboldened them and Israelis living in the Kibbutz close to Gaza, who in the main were not supporters of Netanyahu, paid a terrible price.

The West are hypocrites that’s why.They want the end of any Islamist extremists as much as anyone, which is why they won’t lift a finger to help Gaza, so they stand on the sidelines saying
‘We don’t condone this’ when they really do.
