Hamas has posted a farewell collage of 48 hostages with RON ARRAD substituted for each individual’s real name.
What sort of people are they?

To publicly threaten lives of hostages, impossible to defend it surely?

Oreo Sun 21-Sept-25 10:06:44

There isn’t much more I can say if the answers back to me are all lies and nonsense.
Palestinians are living in Gaza and were living in Gaza and it wasn’t and isn’t a Palestinian State.
Not granting it a State doesn’t mean that Palestinians have to go anywhere other than Gaza itself.

Oreo Sun 21-Sept-25 10:10:53

AGAA4

What is happening is that Israel is getting rid of all Palestinians so that they can take over their land.
Palestinians believe that there always has been Palestine and recognising it as a state just confirms that.
Israel was created on the understanding that they would not cause problems with the Palestinians but they have reneged on that agreement from the start.

Is that why there are still two million Palestinians in Gaza?
It wasn’t Israel causing trouble as you put it, it was groups in both the West Bank and Gaza continually attacking Israel and I do mean continually.

Well said Oreo.
This thread is akin to knocking your head against a brick wall.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 21-Sept-25 10:17:25

Wrong. If Gaza is not an independent state then it is part of Israel.

Israel has been acting as an occupying force for decades with full control of movement of goods and people.

A state that builds a wall does not have it citizens best interests at heart and is an apartheid system which always ends in violence by the oppressed.

Israel will never be capable of caring for its non-Jewish citizens. It has shown zero capability for doing so since it expelled 800000 Palestinians in the first year of its violent existence.

I have no doubt that it will eventually also expel the 2000000 Palestinians in Gaza. And then rebuild on the bones of the dead children.
They should never prosper from such a dreadful act.

Hamas are terrorists ronib we all know that and nobody has ever said any different but that doesn’t deflect from the state sponsored terrorism being used by Israel.
The difference is everyone has condemned Hamas but I don’t hear you condemning the Israeli government.
It is possible to condemn both.

ronib Sun 21-Sept-25 10:27:49

I am not in a position to condemn the Israeli government. I don’t think for one minute that the art of the meaningless gesture will help Palestine or Israel.

The comments on GNet tend to reinforce prejudices imo. I want all the killing to stop and I see no signs that it will anytime soon. Meanwhile the USA has a 6 billion dollar contract to supply Israel with weapons.

Babs03 Sun 21-Sept-25 10:32:16

So these trouble makers in the West Bank Oreo, are they the same ones who had their land and properties seized by illegal settlers aided and abetted by the IDF?

They are the PLO and Fatha and two or three other extreme Muslim groups in the West Bank.

Oreo Sun 21-Sept-25 10:39:41

You know it’s easy to do some research on this?

Maremia Sun 21-Sept-25 10:40:45

Will Israel feel 'safer' now that previously staunch allies are drifting away, due to Netanyahu's war crimes?
Will Israel continue to flourish, as countries are beginning to think about banning produce from the illegal settlements in the West Bank?

ronib Sun 21-Sept-25 10:41:46

Israel seems to have a very good working relationship with the USA.

ronib Sun 21-Sept-25 10:42:05

Japan also?

Maremia Sun 21-Sept-25 10:42:10

The biggest 'troublemakers' in the West Bank, are those illegal settlers.

Maremia Sun 21-Sept-25 10:43:22

The USA is looking forward to enjoying the planned Mar-a-Gaza pleasure beaches.

Saudi Arabia is aligning itself with Pakistan.

foxie48 Sun 21-Sept-25 10:46:00

Oooh, I've just had my first ever post deleted! Wow, wasn't expecting that. I think I must have touched a nerve, apologies if I did but I honestly didn't think it was an improper question to ask.

Oreo Sun 21-Sept-25 10:51:42

Maremia

Saudi Arabia is aligning itself with Pakistan.

Pakistan, that bastion of liberal values.
The fact is that Muslim countries will always align themselves with other Muslim countries.
It doesn’t signify anything.

Maremia Sun 21-Sept-25 10:52:11

On this thread foxie?

Oreo Sun 21-Sept-25 10:52:23

Saudi Arabia, another bastion of good liberal values ( not).

Maremia Sun 21-Sept-25 10:56:38

Wasn't Saudi Arabia one of the Abraham Accords nations? In a treaty with Israel?
Yes it does signify a shift away from Israeli support, no matter how anyone attempts to minimize it
The reason given, was to protect themselves against attack from Israel, after the Qatar bombings.
Netanyahu again, making Israel 'safe'.

Maremia Sun 21-Sept-25 10:57:32

Not talking about 'values' Oreo, talking about support for Israel, to keep it 'safe' in the future.

Maremia Sun 21-Sept-25 10:58:26

Are you permitted to rephrase your comment foxie, and repost?

Maremia Sun 21-Sept-25 11:00:29

What's the criteria for 'deletion'? I know it says guidelines and so on.

Babs03 Sun 21-Sept-25 11:06:26

I believe that if the roles were reversed and an Israeli population were oppressed and treated like second class citizens in their own land land for decades by Palestinians that they would probably be troublesome as well.
Indeed when the Brits occupied what was then Palestine in the 1940s a Jewish group of terrorists would kill British soldiers and their families in a most heinous manner.
Menachem Begin was one such terrorist, though I imagine Israelis prefer to call him a freedom fighter.
