Genocide is being committed in Gaza by Israel

The problem is who will lead this new state? The Palestinians still want someone who has been locked up in an Israeli jail for 23 years. I will try to find out more about him.

The UK, alongside another of other Western countries, has expressed its intention to recognise a Palestinian state at a UN conference in New York on Monday. Two months ago the government abruptly shifted from the UK’s long-term policy, which was to recognise a Palestinian state at a later stage as part of a peace process between Israelis and Palestinians. It announced that unless Israel committed to a series of steps, recognition would be forthcoming. No such conditions were required of Hamas.

Relatives of the hostages see it as rewarding hamas who are celebrating and say it’s a victory for them! Well done Keir, yet another duff decision taken by you to placate the left wing of the Party.
And it’s meaningless in any real way in any case.

No mention of Hamas losing its power, and no mention of the hostages , perhaps Netanyahu forced the hostages to leave Israel, he drove them in convoys to Gaza, Hamas promised to keep them as hostages .

Oh I know exactly what Israel intends, but this puts their legal position regarding their actions on a much less secure position.

Israel will annex both the West Bank and destroy Gaza, by ethnically cleansing it of all its people who own the land.

They will have to answer in court.

Looks like what Netanyahu is doing has been on the agenda for decades. Perhaps he sees it as finishing off what should have been done in the beginning.
Quite frankly you could put any religion or colour of person in the shoes of Palestinians and the result would have been the same. I can’t think if anyone, certainly not Israelis, who would have put up with this kind of treatment, and all the other injustices over the past few decades, and not risen up at sone point.

Only conditions for Israel, none for Hamas! Oh well, the hostages (remember them?) now have virtually no chance of release, Israel has no intention of allowing a hostile state on its doorstep and will actively encourage a continuation of the war. Israeli occupation of the West Bank will almost certainly continue afore and apace, why wouldn't they, who's to stop them? This ridiculous recognition of a place that doesn't exist will only serve to make Israel more militant, more aggressive. Oh and lose us 'eyes and ears' in the Middle East and beyond. Iran, Russia, China must be laughing themselves off their chairs at ours and others rank stupidity. Why would Israel take any notice of us in the West, and our pathetic governments? Why are we so arrogant as to think they might tremble with fear at what Yvette Cooper has to say.!! It's laughable and deeply embarrassing and shameful. The only country that has any sway over Israel is America, and, unlike us, they're not likely to betray them.

It's laughable and deeply embarrassing and shameful not to have done so would have been all of those things, in fact it is our shame that this wasn't done sooner.

Starmer caves in to everything, in this case the left in the Party, some of his own MP’s and fear of losing the Muslim vote.

So, recognising a state that doesn't exist, infuriating Israel into the bargain, will make the war in Gaza miraculously come to an end?! If Hamas were to release the hostages then it would stand a chance of ending but as from today , having been given the green light from the West, they clearly never will, so what or who can persuade Israel to sue for peace in the knowledge that a hostile state will be set up with the blessing of its so called allies in the West,A State that in all probability will be hell bent on destroying every Jew that they can lay their hands on? How on earth are Hamas supposed to release the hostages if Netanyahu won’t agree to talks in order to arrange a ceasefire. Without a ceasefire if Hamas try to release the hostages they are likely to be picked off by the IDF or bombed to bits.
Seems the families of the hostages know who is to blame, some of them have been camped outside Netanyahu’s house.

I read that report with deep scepticism.The Father said he had gone into that zone to ‘retrieve some papers from his former home’ when he knew that he shouldn’t have been there, a very risky thing to do, and why take your 13 year old into a dangerous situation?
