4 of the 5 conditions are fulfilled.

UN report.

Netanyahu today “When will you learn you can’t appease your way out of jihad?”

Go Israel. 🇮🇱

"Go Israel"?

Do you really mean that?

Are you positively supporting a genocidal state?

How dare you call people who despair about the killing in Gaza antisemitic, when you can write what you have done!

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 26-Sept-25 18:06:47

foxie I still think it’s disgraceful behaviour from the UN delegates who walked out. … shame the hostages can't do the same.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 26-Sept-25 18:10:07

Because growstuff I agree with the stance Netanyahu is taking. It is a war against terrorism. Barbaric acts from HAMAS produced retribution. Gaza needs to be rid of the terrorists.

HAMAS of course could stop all this right now.

Just release the 48 hostages. One has to wonder why they don’t?

Have said this many times but obviously not paying attention to simple facts suits your agenda.
So here it is. Again.
Hamas cannot desist or release the hostages until there is a ceasefire, and time and again Netanyahu has refused to agree to a ceasefire.
Perhaps you suggest Hamas just let the hostages walk free into a hail of bullets from the IDF or beneath another bunker busting bomb. Unless there is a ceasefire how can this happen.
Am surprised I must say that you swallow whatever Trump and Netanyahu say, I find that at best naive and at worst speaking to your own deeply held prejudices.
Even Israelis question their own government and those close to Trump are often sacked and then publicly question the president.
Very strange.

I want to see the hostages walk free, they are pawns in a vile game but so are most Palestinians and they have been suffering too. Netanyahu is keeping this war going to save his own skin and tbh, I'd have walked out as well.

MSF are unable to help in Gaza due to the fierce bombing by Israel. They say there's no doubt that genocide is taking place.

Anniebach Fri 26-Sept-25 19:45:46

There are many posts speaking of MSF working in Gaza,

From the Washington Post:

“ … the claim that Netanyahu is driven by ulterior motives appears to be strongly influencing liberal opinion about the war in Israel and the United States. It’s worth taking seriously and teasing out.”

It's an opinion piece from Sept 2024, so more than a year old. Other people have different opinions but I'm pleased that you see that The Washington Post, despite it being dissed recently by another poster, is prepared to print a variety of different opinions. It's what good reporting is about IMO.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 26-Sept-25 20:36:01

Indeed foxie.

foxie48 Fri 26-Sept-25 21:21:28

Doesn't mean that I agree with it though "FGT" and a year on he's still keeping the war going despite all the deaths of civilians in Gaza and the release of hostages being almost solely through negotiated ceasefires. I'd have thought by now he might have decided his tactics were not delivering the results wanted by many Israelis.

Anniebach Fri 26-Sept-25 21:47:07

How is results wanted by Israelis known, a guess yes but not a fact

foxie48 Fri 26-Sept-25 21:55:04

Well Netanyahu has stated what his is, the destruction of Hamas. How will he know he's achieved it? Well he won't, will he? But it gives him the perfect excuse to continue the war and keep himself out of jail.

Back to the first allegation, not the luxury holiday resort .

There was swift condemnation of Netanyahus speech in Israel.

Yair Lapid “ today saw a weary and whining prime minister’s speech, overloaded with overused gimmicks.
Instead of stopping the diplomatic tsunami (world diplomats turning away from Israel) Netanyahu, todsy, worsened the state of the State of Israel”

Yair Golan. “ the speech showed only victimhood, sanctimoniousness, and complete blindness to the suffering of the hostages and the sacrifice of the fighters”
He labelled the loudspeaker stunt as “invalid, childish and insane - it was a propaganda show”

Whitewavemark2 Sat 27-Sept-25 01:18:33

The leader of the PA - Mahmoud Abbas said in his speech, and in complete contrast to Netanyahu’s bellicose speech, - thst he was ready to work with world leaders to bring about a peace plan for Israel and the Palestinians.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 27-Sept-25 01:20:27

Shortly after Netanyahu’s warmongering speech ended, Trump announced that he thought he had a deal.

Anniebach Sat 27-Sept-25 04:12:14

There was swift condemnation of Netanyahu speech today in Israel from Yair Lapid leader of the opposition.

That’s unbelievable, wouldn’t happen in this country , leader of Labour Party wouldn’t criticise a Tory prime minister , shocking

Anniebach Sat 27-Sept-25 04:13:47

And a Palestinian criticising an Israeli? why ?

foxie48 Sat 27-Sept-25 08:30:43

Hamas has agreed to release all the hostages as part of the proposed peace deal. let's see how Netanyahu responds. tbh I think he will refuse it!

AGAA4 Sat 27-Sept-25 08:43:27

Hamas have admitted that they have lost control of most of Gaza. Armed gangs 'clans' are taking over and rival Hamas.
Hamas are probably ready for a peace deal as they have no chance of surviving now.

foxie48 Sat 27-Sept-25 08:47:00

What an absolute mess!

Babs03 Sat 27-Sept-25 08:56:13

Am not surprised is chaos, random young men with vengeance uppermost in their minds and made mad with grief are probably ready to fight anyone even their own people.
It must be hell on earth.

AGAA4 Sat 27-Sept-25 08:56:45

One of the gang leaders has alleged that Netanyahu has supplied them with arms to fight Hamas.
At one time Netanyahu supplied Hamas with arms too and that didn't turn out well.
