^The funding would presumably come for the NHS from cutting wasteful public expenditure and the Blob etc.^
I'm not sure where you have been for the past 15 years, but since 2010 the tories have cut public expenditure year after year, calling it 'efficiency savings'. This is why the NHS is on its knees, why you can't get doctors appointments or find dentists willing to do NHS work. If you are raped or assaulted and a prosecution is planned it could take *years8 to come to trial. It's why we are short of police and why children's homes and care homes have been privatised because local councils can't afford to run them. It's why roads have pot holes (local councils can't afford the repairs) and why there is a shortage of teachers in state schools.
And you think that Reform is going to make £150+ billions worth of savings out of that lot?
Incidentally, 'the Blob' was, as I recall, a term used by Michael Gove when Education Minister for the 'education establishment' that didn't run state education to his satisfaction... It has since been extended to insult the whole civil service (that's the folk who actually keep the country running)
I have already apologised twice for posting the words ‘the blob’ I didnt realise it was intended as an insult, just thought it was used as shorthand for meaning the Civil Service.
I do feel that Reform can do what their name implies and cut wasteful public spending, which does go on. A quick google search will show how they intend to do this. They do support those in need to have benefits but there is a lot of abuse of this, including an article I have seen about a woman who makes a living advising people of which words to use on forms in order to get benefits. Then there is the payment of taxpayer money to human rights lawyers over immigration issues. I am sure there are many, many other abuses of taxpayer money that could be listed. My hope is that the sensible suggestions of Reform could actually be implemented if they do come to power.
