My Quaker friend D is a Samaritan. She cycles as much as she can for the environment. she is gentle, kind, thoughtful, but faced with the suffering in Gaza, felt to call to take action. she was scared but did it.

Quakers have no problem breaking the law and no problem with causing distress to people who are very distress . Not the Quakers who use to attended my bible studies , Anglicans, Roman Catholics, Methodists , Quakers , Baptists,

Yes I think people will get a shock as to where people actually stand, the loudest are rarely representative.

Wouldn’t someone “kind, gentle and thoughtful” just hold hold off fir a short from expressing their opinions in the face of other people’s fear and grief?

I’m afraid I think that to demonstrate this weekend is more about look at me how caring I am, than any thoughtfulness for others.

Not acceptable in any way shape or form.

Protest with another group ‘Doris’. Foolish virtue signalling behaviour to choose THIS group. Surely? Or do you find such extreme (and expensive) behaviour acceptable?

Those people on marches for PAG are breaking the law. In this country we have to obey laws whether we agree with them or not.
Also they were taking police away from other duties which is wrong.

I wonder if those who are usually decent law abiding citizens know that they are rubbing shoulders with extremists and vile antisemites.

I carefully explained to you that the majority of PAG want nothing to do with the violent lot.
I dont want anything to do with the violent lot, but its not uncommon in groups to have a small group who behave this way.

So the answer is simple. No need to prescribe the group.

Arrest and charge those who have committed serious criminal damage as criminals

People who care about starving children and vulnerable people and even doctors at risk of their lives constantly are not "virtue signalling"

What kind of world do you live in that is happy to let that happen unchallenged when its peaceful means

In WW2 Quakers didn’t demonstrate against bombs and bullets , they drove ambulances, worked in hospitals, did much for society without judgment for 6 years ,,seems being a Quaker is something different now
