So have others. They just don't make such a big fuss about what they do.

How on earth can you say that? She works tirelessly for these girls and heads the Maggie Oliver Foundation. I have never heard her bigging herself up or making a fuss as you call it.

She has to be in the media spotlight to promote her organisation and remind people of what has been happening for decades and will continue unless something is done to stop it.

Who in their right minds conceived of a plan to put an ex police man and Labour Party member up as a candidate in the first place?

All the thousands of pounds wasted on this attempted appointment so far.

Personally I’d put a respected retired officer from the Army or Royal Navy as Chair in this inquiry.

Could they not apply for an impartial chair from another country there must be someone out there who would have the knowledge and experience to do it
I wish it could be Maggie Oliver but unfortunately it could backfire as she may deem to have a bias

Undeniably Pakistani rape gangs have been operating for nigh on 20 years now, pretty much unchecked. In areas where Councils were/are Labour run (votes anyone? Always important to an MP especially if hanging on by a very slim majority so let’s not upset the apple cart 🤔).

Taxi drivers (mostly) offering fast food treats, alcohol and drugs to girls who were often ‘in care’ (that’s a laugh in itself - how does that even pretend to be look ing after vulnerable, emotionally needy young teens who constantly went AWOL and came ‘home’ sometimes days later - having been ‘passed around’ by said males). One girl has said 60 men raped her over an extended period of time. Ye gods. Just let that thought alone permeate one’s mind.

But to even suggest that by focusing on these known perpetrators vilify a whole ethnicity is just plain daft (and insulting).

Anyone, no matter what creed, colour o religion should be held to account. No fear, no favour. Same just laws for everyone please.

This thread leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It’s as though the victims of white grooming gangs don’t deserve inclusion or the same level of scrutiny. I wonder how the victims of the grooming gang in Bolton for example, which only came to court earlier this year, feel about that? Do posters know that cases still in the judicial system, and cases in London, which this thread was about, all relate solely to Asian gangs, because I’ve not heard that anywhere?

They did yes and all credit to them but MO has carried on and resigned from the Police as she was so concerned and disgusted. That must have been a massive decision after her long career in the Police.

She could be sitting with her feet up and not bothering any more but she carries on. She is a very determined woman.

She said last night she would not chair the enquiry because she would never be invited because she knows too much. 😉

When people get upset because you are talking about a specific issue relating to women and girls, generally that it a good indicator you are doing something right.

When people get upset because you are talking about a specific issue relating to women and girls, generally that it a good indicator you are doing something right.
