Interesting, from ChatGPT:
“ Crypto-Related Allegations
•One of Farage’s major donors, Christopher Harborne, is a significant early investor in the Tether stablecoin.
•British investigators (the NCA) say that some of that cryptocurrency was used in sanctions evasion and money-laundering that benefitted Russian state or pro-Russian actors.
•But there is no direct evidence (at least publicly) that Harborne donated Kremlin money to Farage; rather, part of his wealth is tied into crypto that may have been used by bad actors.”
ChatGPT summary is that there are “enough red flags” around Reform funding to “merit serious concern and further scrutiny”.

The company Farage keeps....
(162 Posts)"The former leader of Reform UK in Wales has been sentenced to 10-and-a-half years in prison after admitting taking bribes for pro-Russia interviews and speeches.
Nathan Gill, 52, from Llangefni, Anglesey, is thought to have received up to £40,000 to help pro-Russian politicians in Ukraine.
He was a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) when he accepted money from Oleg Voloshyn, 44, a man once described by the US government as a "pawn" of Russian secret services"
And I recall Farage et al collecting their generous wages as MEP's, doing nothing at all for our country, that moment when they, like petualnt small children, turned their backs on the EU parliament
Be very aware, we are all are defined by the company you keep, Farage. Many politicians accept gifts we ar not happy with, and som pilloried for pairs of glasses, but you, Farage, kept company with a Russian spy.
Farage is facing calls to investigate and root out links between Reform UK and Russia after one of his party’s former senior politicians was jailed for 10 years for accepting bribes from a pro-Kremlin agent.
Not a good week for Farage: he faces fresh claims of racism and antisemitism at school

"It is the hectoring tone, the “jeering quality”, in Nigel Farage’s voice today that brings it all back for Peter Ettedgui.
He would sidle up to me and growl: ‘Hitler was right,’ or ‘Gas them,’ sometimes adding a long hiss to simulate the sound of the gas showers,” Ettedgui says of his experience of being in a class with Farage at Dulwich college in south London
"My grandparents had escaped from Nazi Germany, and had always talked with deep gratitude about how they felt welcome in the UK,” he says.
*I’d never experienced antisemitism growing up, so the first time that this vicious verbal abuse came out of Farage’s mouth was deeply shocking.
But I wasn’t his only target.
I’d hear him calling other students ‘Paki’ or ‘Wog’, and urging them to ‘go home’.
I tried to ignore him, but it was humiliating. It was shaming. This kind of abuse cuts through to the core of your identity*
I suspect though, that Farage/reform supporters will see any investigation etc as being politically motivated, and false just as MAGA did over the investigation of Trump, which he was able to evade because of his position.
It is a weird phenomenon.
keepingquiet said The time is right for an investigation and review into the whole Brexit debacle.
So I pulled up the Russia Report' the one that Johnson delayed releasing to the public until after we had left the EU.
It talks a lot about Russian influence on social media but as far as interference in elections and referendums (because Russian influence/interference was claimed after the Scottish independence referendum, too) it had this to say, (after noting that 'the intelligence community appeared to exercise extreme caution amongst the intelligence and security Agencies at the thought that they might have any role in relation to the UK’s democratic processes, and particularly one as contentious as the EU referendum.)
The written evidence provided to us appeared to suggest that HMG had not seen or sought evidence of successful interference in UK democratic processes or any activity that has had a material impact on an election, for example influencing results.
In other words, our intelligence agencies found no evidence of Russian interference in the EU referendum because they didn't look for any. Though you can see from the previous part of the report that they seem to have found lots of interference in general terms.

On the Beeb news tonight: Farage denies all - hence calling those who have testified as lying. but I believe the then young Jewish boy who got remarks about gas chambers and so on.
Now he is saying that he didn't mean to hurt anyone.
Hope they keep digging, and investigating and then charging.
Well the Beeb hasn't given up. today the Jewish classmate who reported Farage has formally responded.
this should not be ignored. Farage's denials make it far far worse. Anyone who opposes anti-semitism should be very, very angry, and I call on gransdnetters who support Farage to answer to this - do they not think it significant or is Farage to be "forgiven?
"A Jewish former classmate of Nigel Farage has told the BBC the Reform UK leader is being "fundamentally dishonest" by suggesting former pupils who say they witnessed his racism are not telling the truth.
Peter Ettedgui said Farage had repeatedly told him "Hitler was right" and "gas them" when they were teenagers at Dulwich College, in London.
On Monday, Farage said he had "never directly racially abused anybody" after claims by former Dulwich College pupils, including Mr Ettedgui, that were first reported in The Guardian, external
Mr Ettedgui said Farage's claim that those making allegations about his past behaviour were not telling the truth had left him "really angry".
One of the most vivid memories of my school life is Farage repeatedly coming up to me and, knowing that I was Jewish, saying Hitler was right and 'gas 'em', and that was frequently followed by a 'sssss', you know, kind of imitating the sound of escaping gas
"That's my abiding memory of him, and that sort of verbal abuse happened quite consistently over the year that we were together in the same class.
"And it was pretty vicious, it was pretty nasty, it was absolutely directed in a very personal way at me."
He said Farage's words had "hit hard" because his grandparents had escaped Nazi Germany and much of their family had perished in the Holocaust
It wasn't the normal sort of vaguely antisemitic banter that you might encounter in the school grounds at that time in the 1970s. It was much worse," he added
Asked how he could be sure that his memory was correct, given that the events he describes happened many decades ago, Mr Ettedgui said:
I think anyone who suffers any kind of abuse, it's going to mark their lives
Of course we do have a first hand witness statement in the form of a letter written by his form tutor.
It does not make pleasant reading.
I remember it from 2016 prior to Brexit.
With Farage we are talking about nearly 50 years ago! I kept old letters from boyfriends and some of the stuff they wrote at the time would be deemed racist now. These were well educated grammar school boys and college students but they thought those sort of jokes were funny then.
Old comedy series on TV now issue a warning at the beginning about offensive language etc which was acceptable at the time. Man About The House, Rising Damp, Love Thy Neighbour, Only Fools And Horses ….. all have these warnings.
I agree with eazybee why drag this up now. Obviously because Reform are doing much better than Labour.

There is also evidence apparently from others who say otherwise.
A master and at least 12 random former school mates of Farage, at an independent school, all Labour supporters who have it for Farage? Hmm.
This came to mind.

But he has channelled those early racist ideas into every political organisation he has ever been involved with. And that now seems to include a party that might form the next government of this country.

We are not talking about the 1960s/early 70s
Farage is only 62 - this is about his time at Dulwich Upper school in the 1980s
That type of behaviour was totally unacceptable in the 1980s - especially antisemitism
*sorry - Farage is 61
This was not casual, ignorant racism though, Primrose.
It was bullying, and malicious, and targeted, hitting gas sounds in ears, *deliberately choosing Jewish boys whose family had a history including death in gas chambers
This why I am "making a fuss".
Leopards like that, don't change their spots
Perpetrators never seem to have any recollection of their abusive behaviour. Sadly the victims always have very clear memories as they remain traumatised and it can take many years for them to talk about it.
Farage says people are talking about a time when he was a young teenager but it seems to have continued throughout his school years. If he no longer holds the same views as he did as a young person, he could say so and apologise but of course he can't.
I can easily believe the Jewish man and some others who confirm that Farage bullied him because he was Jewish.
Every time Mr Ettedgui answered a question in class Farage was heard to say "Jew" apart from all the other anti-Semitic things he said.
I don't believe that Farage has changed.
Mr Ettedgui has spoken out now as he is afraid that Farage may become the PM.
Maremia

I can’t see a court case coming out of this.
The teacher who wrote the letter told Michael Crick that she has no recollection of the letter.
Added to that she never taught Farage and claims all the allegations came from common room conversations.
The above was told to Michael Crick ( ex channel 4 journalist)

So, if he was born in 1963, he must have been quite an old schoolboy in the 1980s?
He surely must have left by 1981?
Not that I am defending him at all, I'm just confused. I left school about the time he was born but my Maths is not that shaky, is it?
Surely Farage has made many anti-semitic and Islamaphobic comments in the years since then, many well-documented, without resorting to what he supposedly said when he was a child?
Many people may have done or said things when they were children of which they might look back in horror and feel ashamed as adults.
Some do continue and it is their behaviour as adults we should be concerned about. We all know what he's like now!
As this is a thread about the company that Farage keeps, I do think that the very serious issue of spying for Russia needs to be addressed and the Reform leader in Wales, who is now serving 10 years for being a traitor to his country.
Nathan Gill
Farage publically spoken pro-Russian/Putin rhetoric undoubtedly attracted people like Gill, and I think it is time this was looked at much closer by the media and security services.
Farage is saying “one bad apple” but as someone said that is what the media told us when the hacking scandal was first revealed.
We know that Russia interfered during Brexit, and it continues to interfere in the EU trying to destroy the trading community.
Close scrutiny needs to be carried out.
It's not a sort of tactical move Primrose, as in "Farage is doing well, lets find something to knock him with"
Its concern for a Trump-like UK, a real genuine concern, indeed fear: and also the knowledge that Reform simply do not have enough experienced politicians capable of running the government.
Just because you agree ideologically with Farage does not and cannot give you the experience necessary to run a whole country - it's appalling to think what a large group of totally inexperienced MP's could do.
Look what has happened in local councils - the claims of
"oh we will change everything has floundered at the first shot of reality of the huge general social needs bills and the practicalities of already stretched budgets and elderly people already not getting enough help"
and finding the apparent huge budgets apparently spending on multicultural projects simply didnt exist as claimed at the election -
Worcestershire County Council is a reform-minded council that is currently consulting on a potential 10% council tax increase for 2026/27!
for goodness sake......
Apparently, Starmer has asked Farage to apologise to the people he has bullied and racially abused.
Anyone holding their breath?
Would be interesting to explore the notion that 'Farage is doing well'. What exactly has he ever done well?
Topping the polls isn't actually doing anything.
I believe that Ch4 News wanted to interview him tonight but he declined. Funny that because usually you can’t keep him off the telly
