So, by co-operating, she was not safe.
The suggestion, that she would have been safe if she co-operated, has been disproven.

The wife of the driver uses taunting words to the ICE officer as well as body language ‘ you wanna come at us? You wanna come at us? Go get some lunch big boy’ .She also says something about the Reg plates on the car when he looks at it, along the lines of we don’t change the plates you’ll be seeing it all day.

The US white settlers were illegal settlers. Because something wasn’t written down in US Statutes doesn’t mean there was no law! US Law was made for the US! The Native Nations of North America had customary laws and sovereignty over their lands. The white settlers ignored that and laid claim to the land. They were trespassers and unwelcome as they trampled on Native culture and sensitivities. You still hear echoes of Manifest Destiny out off the mouths of some right wing Americans to this day.

The American public don’t need to stay silent they can protest lawfully as much as they want or as little as they want.
Many there are happy that illegal immigrants are being questioned and deported, and those who disagree can speak out freely as long as they don’t interfere.State Government can also speak out.

When any right wing government comes up with policies that aren’t universally liked forum members can’t wait to post their 1930 Nazi comparisons.
There are no same comparisons, none whatsoever to the Holocaust ( but they never seem to get this fact.)

No matter what I think about the police in the UK, I understand that if an authority figure tells me to step out of the car, then that’s precisely what I need to do. No ifs or buts. If any lessons are learned from this situation, then politeness and obedience to a directive may one day save lives. Don’t disrespect and disregard someone holding a weapon.

The Jews in Germany were not, repeat not living there illegally they were German citizens quite often long standing ones of generations and generations.
There is zilch parallels with the US government trying to root out illegal immigrants in their midst.

To be fair there are zero parallels with most comparisons to Nazi Germany.
