Andy Burnham would like to see him deported, I think it would be a real coup if he could somehow find a way to reverse the legislation that would allow this appalling man, the grooming gang leader, convicted of 30 rapes to remain here. Although I don't hold out too many hopes on that happening, any thoughts on the matter.

I hope that it will be possible to change the law to deport this loathsome man, and potentially, other foreign nationals who have committed despicable crimes such as his, after their sentence has been served.

We can change our law, but in order to deport them, we are reliant on the country where they were originally from agreeing to take them back, which is very unlikely I would think.

As mentioned up thread, the country Pakistan, I imagine is more reliant on us than we are on them. Revoking visas would be one pressure that could be brought to bear on them, that would pretty much be a one way traffic, I can't imagine too many people from here wanting to make a life there, unless they're ethnically Pakistani going back. Then there is foreign aid.

After all, I remember reading about a criminal in Australia, serial rapist who'd hardly ever lived here, and we had to take him back. Of course no country would want a criminal element back who has long since departed the parent country if they could get round it. From what we read, the Pakistani groomers are far more aligned culturally to the country they emanated from than they are with Britain, a culture which in many instances they deride.

Apparently Mahmood has devised a plan to have him deported which will be announced on Monday, allowing him time to disappear and the Human rights Lawyers to prevent his .

I wonder if anyone knows where he is now. Still no answer as to why he was released before serving the remaining eight years of his sentence when he still a dangerous man and a threat to others.
Apparently Mahmood has discovered a loophole which will enable him to be deported to be announced on Monday. Why the delay? To allow the human rights lawyers to prepare their objections?

Sorry; first post vanished so rewrote it, only for it to appear as I posted second one.

His original sentence seems to lenient to me; let alone being released early.

Some way needs to be found of deporting this man or it plays into the hands of the right wing racists.

The answer as to why he was released is that that is the mandatory system at the moment. He was given 22 years, he had to be released after serving two thirds. He was released on licence and is probably in some sort of probation run hostel. He applied for parole earlier but was ( rightly) refused.

Doubt it, he’s probably in there with his mates. So many of them in the system.

I would imagine he had a lot of protection from like minded prisoners.
