Has it been disclosed who was driving?
As well as three teens, two of them were 23 years old.
Stocked ready-made frozen meals
Some foods are still relatively cheap….
Mother put on child abuse register for letting her 5 year old go for a walk!
Following the recent crash in Ireland where 5 teenagers deliberately drove the wrong way on a motorway, killing themselves and seriously injuring 4 people in the car they crashed into, another has happened in Middlesborough. Again 5 young lads driving against the traffic on an A road, all killed plus 2 police officers. A total of 12 people dead in 2 crashes all because they want to get 'likes' on TikTok. What mind thinks up a challenge like this?

how is it possible for young men this young to be able to afford a car anyway, assuming there is no insurance involved?
In this case it was a stolen car.
In the police statement posted by Avalon it appears that four of the young men who dies had previous convictions (unspecified). This seems to have been a criminal enterprise rather than a response to anything on Tik Tok.
We will never truly know what happened but it is my suspicion that the Passat was deliberately driven at the police car...
From what I heard on a BBC report the fun is to drive at night with no lights. Given that many roads are not lit, the people in the police car had no way of knowing they were going to be hit, until the last moment.
12 people aged from 19 to 61 have been arrested in relation to the death of the two police officers.
They are believed to be a group participating in crime. BBC news.

Do teenage boys - it's always boys - possess minds? I think not.
We have these groups of teenage morons, one of them (amazingly) passes a driving test and immediately the gang piles into a wreck of a car and set off to go pure crazy.
I'd suggest that those of the male gender not be allowed on the roads until they reach sensible middle age.......but I suppose that would be trampling on their 'yoomin rites, like'
I don’t know but I wouldn’t be surprised if they have even had driving lessons let alone passed a test. The likes of many of these will steal cars and drive them inappropriately and there’s no stopping them.
‘No evidence of recording for Tik Tok’ the police have said.
I think, looking at photographs on the BBC web site and as it appears to pass through built up areas, that section of the A66 is lit.
It is, I've checked on google maps street view.
That's in response to mokryna
It's another one to social media. People are saying it's a tragedy that seven were killed. I think it's a devastating tragedy regarding the two police officers who are victims of the stupidity of the other five idiots who were killed for whom I have no sympathy at all
As I posted @ 14.58 these people belonged to an organised crime group. They weren't just young men out having dangerous fun. Another car has been identified ramming properties. The same group involved.

A menace to society. Those they have arrested today need to be locked up for public safety as well as the safety of the police who seek to restrain them.
They obviously have no morals or conscience. Just lose the key!!
They aren't all young. Age range from 19 - 61 are involved in this criminal group.
My brother works in Higher Education and said students were talking about this TikTok trend/challenge just before the summer. One of the aims is to drive as fast as you can, the wrong way for as long as you can. My heart breaks for the innocent victims and their families.

I don't think they saved up their pocket money.
To try to channel some of the risk desire element in young male brains, perhaps a system whereby any male up to age 18 and found to have been in any kind of violent behaviour should be a candidate for a programme similar to national service as soon as they do reach 18. Perhaps the threat of compulsory training at 18 would make them think again about partaking in any violent behaviour. Sadly that two police officers lost their life will be celebrated by many of the thugs out there.
It is very easy to blame social media, in this case it doesn't appear to be to do with SM, it is usually much more complex than 'ban social media'.
Let’s face it, all ‘dares’ can be stupid. There is little rationalisation when you get a ring leader who is egged on to become a ‘dare devil’.
My heart goes out to the innocent, I have few words of contempt for the others and their irresponsible parents who raise these shite
Stolen car can do just as much damage
Sarnia I wholeheartedly agree that Tik Tok needs shutting down it is despicable. Lives lost by stupidity. Our country should know better than to allow our young folk to be encouraged to engage in life threatening activities.
I do not look at Tik Tok and don’t want to. My condolences to the families of all those concerned 🥲🥲
I think you have forgotten that joy riding was a big thing in the 90s. A girl I taught died in such a crash. Before social media.
The reasons for risky behaviour are complex and I’m sure the Tik tok stuff can’t help, but educating young men to think differently requires multiple methods.
Can’t think behaviour of Farage.and Co, Trump and Musc have helped. The message from some is ditch the weak and strong men rule.
While peaceful protesters are arrested bullies hold people at home in fear.
Our society encourages boys to think it’s good to come out top whatever it takes.
As the minister at my pupil’s funeral back in 1992 said-we all bear the blame. Thatcher consumerism and lack of opportunity has taken a very expensive toll.
It is a tragedy that 7 have been killed orly. As well as the terrible deaths of the 2 police officers 5 families have lost a son, a grandson and possibly a brother and regardless of the circumstances, they've lost them.
The 18 year old was the father of a one year old son.
Such a waste OldFrill

This dangerous driving behaviour has been going on for a very long time. Over 20 years go I experienced a car full of teenage boys driving straight at me. I was travelling on a straight road through common land, thankfully not going fast, and with no traffic behind me. A small oncoming car suddenly veered over to my side of the road and drove straight at me. I braked and slowed right down, and the boys, nearly at my car, veered off again onto the proper side of the road, giving me 'v' signs and laughing as they passed. This was well before the current lure to young men of publicizing themselves through videos on social media, It left me shaky for days. The strong possibility of causing injury or even death to others and themselves seems of little consequence to these boys either then or now. Their pathetic need to impress members in their own group, and now of course, on film worldwide is sadly going to be very difficult to stop.
Absolutely senseless! Hopefully this will deter others x
