Wrong side driving social media stunt

Following the recent crash in Ireland where 5 teenagers deliberately drove the wrong way on a motorway, killing themselves and seriously injuring 4 people in the car they crashed into, another has happened in Middlesborough. Again 5 young lads driving against the traffic on an A road, all killed plus 2 police officers. A total of 12 people dead in 2 crashes all because they want to get 'likes' on TikTok. What mind thinks up a challenge like this?

You ask how did these burgeoning Kamikaze get away with it.
One word: cuts,
The police.
Social workers.
Youth centres.
Youth workers.
Plus the experience of many ex gang members who wanted to help and educate these kids but weren’t given money to rent premises.
Thank you George Osborne and all who came after him for the next 14 years. 🤬

Totally agree. It's pointless saying "lock them up and throw away the key" when prisons are full to bursting, police are understaffed and the probation service has been privatised.

prisons are full to bursting
Listening to a very good piece on this subject.
In a recent 12 month period there were 51, 000 recalls.
These recalls sometimes outnumber new court sentenced arrivals.
You can be recalled for various reasons. One of them being that you gave an address when you were let out but then had to move ( homeless)
A letter goes to that address. You don’t receive it let alone answer it. A breach of your release.

Thank you OldFrill this point was made previously, but people aren’t listening - or reading.

👏👏👏 Listening and reading.

Latest. Murder probe after two found dead in a house in Middlesbrough.

Something was bound to happen after the crash and the occupants in the other car.
The crash has caused untold trouble for the occupants of the other car.

There is a much bigger story unfolding here. It seems like 2 rival groups/gangs hell bent on revenge over something.

Local Authority managed sites aren't closed there will usually be a warden in control and we reasonably organized. Locally there are 3 illegal sites where groups have just moved in to a field without any kind of permission once they are in and the gates erected it's almost impossible to move them. These are the sites that cause the real problems and there are a lot of them.

The Middlesborough one is not a traveller issue from what we can see it is an underclass/ criminal gang thing.
This isnt to say there isnt an issue with driving deaths in the traveller community, there very obviously is but unless info changes not in this case.

I’ve just seen on the news that another house was rammed last night in the same area, which may also be linked. It seems like open warfare, I feel for the innocent residents, they must be scared to go out of their homes.

The man charged with arson which killed a 7 year old girl and her aunt has appeared in court this morning. Seems like more revenge attacks as the aunt had a family member heavily involved with local crime. What an dreadful place for decent people to live.

Tik Tok needs to be banned in the UK immediately!

If they cannot control their content, I agree.

They are fighting the suggestion with adverts about their educational content. If that is the case it needs to be split off, but monitoring and cutting younger folks off should be a first step.
The lads were already part of the underclass so perhaps not the fault of TikTok. Members of their family have already torched cars etc

Not sure why a head on crash was necessary. Surely stingers could have been deployed?

Are you blaming the police for this crash FranP

Have you read exactly what happened in that crash. Obviously not.
The police car that was hit by the killers of the policemen wasn’t involved in the police chase.

From an account I read, the police had tried to stop the car with five occupants with a Stinger, just before it went onto the dual carriageway but the manoeuvre wasn’t successful, sadly.

That's certainly how it comes across. Perhaps FranP can tell us how they would have done it differently?
