This seems tome to be a death wish.
Are their lives so meaningless?
Stocked ready-made frozen meals
Some foods are still relatively cheap….
Mother put on child abuse register for letting her 5 year old go for a walk!
Following the recent crash in Ireland where 5 teenagers deliberately drove the wrong way on a motorway, killing themselves and seriously injuring 4 people in the car they crashed into, another has happened in Middlesborough. Again 5 young lads driving against the traffic on an A road, all killed plus 2 police officers. A total of 12 people dead in 2 crashes all because they want to get 'likes' on TikTok. What mind thinks up a challenge like this?
This seems tome to be a death wish.
Are their lives so meaningless?
My fear is rather than deter bothers, these five will be seen as hero’s by other lost boys / young men
Well said Sago, these idiots probably don’t even take a driving test. They are a menace to society and now the parents are setting off ballooons on Wednesday evening in memory of them.Beyond words……..they have all been arrested in the past ,or awaiting trial. Devastated for the policemen’s families.
Eddiecat78, young men do not crave danger…just out of
control kids do.
These young men have a history of criminal activity from theft to assaults on police officers. They are criminals living outside normal standards of behaviour - no doubt sleeping all day instead of working so they can be out driving illegally in the early hours of the morning.
No sympathy for them or their families.
Every sympathy for the police officers who went to work to keep us safe. to never return to their families.
Funny how these home grown white thugs have attracted no criticism from the right wing agitators out shouting at hotels and hanging flags! Wouldn’t surprise me if these thugs are their offspring.
Just waiting for the balloon releases and go fund me nonsense for their funerals.
The police more than ever need our support and the families of these two officers need to see decent people are horrified by this lawlessness and the officers untimely and unnecessary deaths.
Earlier this evening, flares, rockets and balloons near to the crash site set off/released by masked youths and families.
Unbelievable.
Just seen this Jaxjacky words fail me.
Any words of remorse or sympathy for the families of the dead police officers from the masked youths as they set off flares … no? thought not!

From what I heard on a BBC report the fun is to drive at night with no lights. Given that many roads are not lit, the people in the police car had no way of knowing they were going to be hit, until the last moment.
But they were aware that the car was heading their way. I’m a bit surprised that they weren’t able to avoid the straight head on collision unless they were driven straight at and it was impossible to stop it happening. What a tragedy. RIP 🙏🏼🙏🏼
And in the crowd setting off flares there are women carried small children. What would possess you to attend an event like that? Shameless doesn’t describe it well enough.
Wouldn’t you think one sane adult in all their relatives would set up a ‘good cause’ initiative to steer young men in a better law abiding direction.
Horrible way to conduct themselves after such a needless loss of life, flares and horns sounding with countless masked young men speeding around on motorbikes. No remorse for either the police who lost their lives or their so called buddies who lost theirs.
A candlelit vigil calling for an end to such needless deaths on our roads would have been so much better.
Instead what we see is an act of defiance, two fingers up to those watching this offensive spectacle.
It was to “celebrate the beautiful life beautifully lived” of one of them. All had previous convictions and were a bad lot. Their families are no better.
There were two balloon releases planned for tonight, another 3 this week. It seemed a low turnout given the publicity on SM and "everyone invited".
It's not remorse it's vengeance they are concentrating on. They are calling the police murderers and claiming there was a stinger put on the road that caused the crash and the boys' deaths. SM certainly can spin dissent.
As a society we have become too tolerant of brazen law breaker who do not respect society or the police. Two good men died doing their duty, leaving broken hearted families. The perpetrators made their choice.
Appalled, shocked.
Verify BBC now (past 11pm) carries these TikTok videos which were deleted but have been unearthed.
(not the incident itself, please note, I would not post that, but they are in car videos by these sort of young men)

I dont know the Irish situation but I am not particularly looking to blame a particular community for it, since as others have pointed out, it was a "thing" long ago and has been in the USA too. To easy to point fingers when plenty of white young men are at it.
These vigils have made me so angry. It proves they have no respect, no remorse and don't realise what they have done. Disgusting behaviour. Those poor police officers and their families.
I think they do realise what they have done, they simply do not care. These are feral families, no intention of changing and happy to teach the next generation to live just as they do - loutish, loud and criminal. They get validated by the mobs that hero worship them. Low life.
The English incident is far greater than filming for TikTok, the police have consistently said that this incident was not being filmed.
It's anarchistic organised crime recruiting/influencing young people knowing there is ineffective policing and minimal punishments.
Theft, drugs, guns, assaulting police officers and the public. I'd hazard a guess it's apparent in every city in the UK to a greater or lesser extent. Oh and they do know exactly what they're doing, even if fuelled by drugs.
A government saying let's regulate tik tok is so much easier than saying, these young men should have been in prison, or the fact that many communities have to tolerate this level of criminality, disorder.
On BBC News last night they said 12 people, ranging from a 19 year old to a 61 year old, have been arrested in connection with this incident with a link to organised crime.
4 of the 5 boys killed all had police records with all mentioning offences against the Police.
In view of the type of families these boys came from and the criminal activities they were involved in at such young ages and a total disregard for the Police, I daresay the fireworks and balloons are seen as some sort of celebration that 2 officers were killed.
I think those are two separate issues though.
Glorifying dangerous stunts is something social media allows, and it does need to be banned before more copycat young people lose their lives or kill others.
This wasn’t a social media stunt, and criminal behaviour of this kind deserves punishment.
Saddest thing I saw on YouTube, was an American traffic police documentary.
Young man was pulled over for speeding. Turns out the young man had borrowed his father’s high powered sports car to take out a first date.
Cop was debating whether or not to give him a ticket, in the end he gave the lad a lecture on the dangers of speeding.
Twenty minutes later call comes over the radio, there had been a RTA- you can just see him running in a panic towards the car, T - boned under an articulated lorry.
Both occupants decapitated.
He stood & cried as he realised it was the vehicle he had pulled up earlier.
I think they should show these videos in schools.
Might put them off driving like loons.
One person has been charged and 11 others arrested. BBC news this morning.
I find it quite disturbing that some GNs take the "Good riddance, I shan't be shedding any tears" attitude to the deaths of these young men.
We seem to be a warm hearted, sympathetic and supportive lot most of the time but it also seems that a hard nosed and callous element creeps in at times.
Magenta - Many including me have taken this attitude because 2 police officers have lost their young lives doing their job and 2 families will never be the same again. Likewise in Ireland a couple of weeks ago a family were critically injured on the way to the airport by a similar stunt. A few years ago PC Harper was killed 3 weeks after his wedding by a group who have shown no remorse for their dangerous driving. Gathering at balloon releases shows how much these criminals don't care. So to be honest I have no sympathy for the scum causing these hideous crimes, just heartbreaking sympathy for the victims.
I think for me it is because 'kindness' is causing endless harm to people including those groups that people say they care about.
