Two Poorly Dogs - Very Worrying.

An early trip to the vet for me tomorrow. Millie and Peggy both have a nasty bout of D&V. They actually have the symptoms of parvo virus which is worrying but they are both up to date with their boosters and rarely come into contact with other dogs so it's a mystery.

Peggy was poorly on Wednesday so I rang the vet who gave me the usual advice of no food for 24hrs - just fluids etc. By Friday she was a little better so I rang the vet who said to take her in on Saturday morning if she didn't continue to improve. She has but she's still not right.

This morning Millie has developed the same symptoms and is very lethargic. She already has an appointment with the vet tomorrow as a follow up to her anal gland infection six weeks ago which will require a further course of anti-biotics as the bug has proved to be resistant to the normal one.

What with Millie's pyometra I seem to have spent more time at the vet in the last six weeks than I have in years. We have ruled out poisoning but there are some weird doggy diseases about at the moment so fingers crossed this will be easy to treat.

Thank goodness for pet insurance....Good old SAGA.

My very first message, and of course it concerns dogs ( a subject close to my heart) do hope poorly dogs are much better.

Called in at the vet this afternoon to collect bottle of wine won at their open afternoon raffle . A lady came in whilst I was there and seemed a bit tearful, she said she could not get her dog out of the car, been worrying about her ever since

Welcome heliotrope another animal lover I see, it is so sad sometimes sitting in the vets surgery seeing poorly pets and upset owners I too always wonder how the animals got on.Enjoy your wine how lucky you are.
