Nellie the male mounts in the way you would expect but as coupling progresses he steps over her and they finish the deed back to back. It's not classed as a true mating if this stage isn't reached smile

pompa grin Your certainly should not be getting dragged under a trampoline with your new knee!

pompa Wed 07-Jan-15 17:48:13

Ouch ! To put the record straight :-
I don,t have a dog
I don't have a trampoline
It was Richard that started posting about rings.
I can't confirm if Mrs. P has been dragged under a trampoline, she doesn't tell me everything.

How on earth can a male and female dog get coupled back to back?? a diagram is needed!

loopylou Wed 07-Jan-15 17:30:20

Thank goodness it isn't pompa's dog ......and that they weren't on the trampoline, goodness knows what damage he may have sustained shock

It's pompa who's to blame for posting about his ring!

loopylou Wed 07-Jan-15 17:19:34

Merlot! Don't put ideas in his head, poor Mrs Pompa ....

I'm wondering if pompa's ever been dragged backwards under a trampoline. shock

The mind boggles!!

Poor old chap, hope that hasn't finished him off but at least he'll be a happy chappy!

shysal Wed 07-Jan-15 16:34:09

pompa Wed 07-Jan-15 15:33:39

I think I have empathy with your dog hmm

whitewave Wed 07-Jan-15 14:43:16

Blimey anya maybe his "operation" left a bit behind?!

Anya Wed 07-Jan-15 14:17:45

The hussy dragged him backwards under our trampoline!

I'll give him an hour Gaga and if he's still walking strangely I'll call the vet. Poor old dog!

Gagagran Wed 07-Jan-15 14:12:59

Well he'll not be able to be a Daddy will he Anya? Maybe he's strained something with the energy expended? You could always ring the vet and ask if he should be checked over.

I have an 'elderly' neutered male dog. My DD has a young female Jack Russell who's on her first heat. We look after her for a couple of hours a day as they both work full time.

I was horrified when I looked out my kitchen window onto my back garden to see them coupled, back to back. I didn't think it was possible with a neutered male. The poor old fellow is now walking very strangely.

Did anyone else know this was possible?

Sorry if this is TMI for our more sensitive GNetters hmm
