Our 13yr old cat has never moulted as much as she is doing at the moment. I have a carpet covered in cat hair 
and have had for about a fortnight.
There is no obvious skin condition or evidence of fleas.
Is it the mixed up weather, are you having the same problem with your animals?
Went to vet's and was recommended Broadline. This also works on worms too, so there'll be no more need for tablets (phew!) Also bought the necessary spray to do carpets and skirting boards. Cat has been duly dealt with and has disappeared down the bottom of the garden at great speed.
