So, what Christmas pressies is Father Christmas bringing the fur, feathers or fins in your home?

My little girl has a couple of fetch soft toys and some food treats to open. The budgies have some millet and a new toy with bells on and the hamster has a new toy and some new food treat, but then he is only a baby and a little darling. He has had a new cage this last week too, now he lives in a mansion! Next is to get the budgies a bigger one too. My little girl has had a new bed and new pink fur coat already. tchsmile

Happy Christmas to all our little friends ! Just bought a new pink fluffly blanket and two new food bowls for the cat ...and a little dog kennel for the cat who comes into our garden whom we feed .....it has a thermal cushion and waterproof stand plus blankets ...we are trying to get it indoors but our cat (who was also a stray who actually came in one night three years ago, through our cat flap) will not let this one in ,,we will not give up ! Bought two new feeders for the birds and a large bad of sunflower seeds as the bullfinches love them ...my husband has banned me from hanging them from the trees as the dropped seeds grow into very large weeds underneath !!! but I don;t listen !!

DD has a little dog (granddog??) - I am buying some treats & a toy, used to buy Pet Stockings but they're a rip off really.

My cat will probably get extra treats especially if I cook a chicken (his favourite) during Christmas period.

Birds will be well fed as usual

Lillie, what a beautiful, handsome boy.

My Westie managed to get her advent calendar down and ate the lot while I was out. She had a bit of diarrhoea for a couple's of days but is fine now. She is getting a new wooly coat, some treats, a new hairbrush and some flea drops for Christmas.

I have a 'grandbunny' called Solomon. I have no idea what to buy him!

One of my cats got an early "Christmas" yesterday - a new carrier! I had to take both cats to the vet in the late afternoon and they usually go in one big carrier, no problem! But yesterday they both flipped and though I did get them in the carrier - eventually - the kitchen was a wreck! Nothing broken, luckily, as Magic couldn't get behind the microwave and Mischief couldn't get out of the kitchen, lol! But I decided enough was enough and they'll go in separate carriers from now on, so I bought a new carrier... usually they just get new collars which I'd already bought for them! Wasn't expecting the extra expense of a new carrier, but needs must as they say!

I have seven ( yes, SEVEN) granddogs, and have been known to have them all here at once!
Three Jack Russells,
One Springer Spaniel,
One Cocker Spaniel,
One Lab/Collie,
One German Shepherd

( And a partridge in a pear tree?)

I buy them gifts, (but only for the sake of the grandchildren, naturally)

I am now reminded of my friend who, when asked if she was buying her dog a Christmas present, said that she was, but couldn't say what it was as the dog was listening.

Tizliz Sat 17-Dec-16 19:40:09

Of course they are listening ?

Poppy has a new blingy collar with her name spelt in on it all pink of course and a new pink check raincoat to stop her getting so wet under her tummy,Oliver our new addition is getting a new scratch post tower as the one we bought when he arrived is far too small,he is such a big lump of a kitten for 6 mths as you can see,he will also have a tin of his favourite sardines for xmas lunch.

Missing my cat since we lost her last month. She used to sit at the top of the stairs while I threw her ping-pong balls to hit back to me, lovely cat. She also used to steal the box of bickies, drag them upstairs.... and then throw them down, much easier than trying to get them out with her paw!

Jane10 Sat 17-Dec-16 21:47:26

Very sorry to hear that Maggieanne. I do hope she finds her way home to you soon.

etheltbags1 Sat 17-Dec-16 22:20:08

I just get my little boy and girl some special food and maybe some new balls

Thank you everyone for making me laugh. We "lost" our dog in the summer. He gave and received cards and presents. smile

Maggieanne Sun 18-Dec-16 11:40:10

Thanks, Jane10, sorry, stupid euphemisms, should have made it clear, we had to have her put to sleep, too ill to carry on. After Christmas, I'm sure we'll find two more cats that need a home. JackieB, sorry to hear that,I bet you miss your dog a lot, such good companions.

Jane10 Sun 18-Dec-16 12:21:30

So sad Maggieanne. We once had to have a dear little cat put to sleep on Christmas Eve. She'd overnight developed a very odd vertigo disorder. She just couldn't stop spinning round. It was awful. The vet said it was rare and didn't know if he could do anything. However, she was so desperately distressed and it had gone on nonstop for 24 hours that we had to put her out of her misery. We didn't want our adult children who were visiting on Christmas day to know so we just said she was sleeping upstairs.
Poor wee YumYum. I still miss her. (I have included her in my latest book though. This isn't an advert, just to say how comforting it was to write about her!)

Maggieanne Sun 18-Dec-16 13:03:22

Jane, sounds interesting, you now have to tell us more, you know we all love a good animal story!

Jane10 Sun 18-Dec-16 14:13:55

Its just one chapter in the book. It was so lovely writing about her. It felt like giving her another life somehow. Daft I know.

Off shortly to raid the local pet shop for pressies for our totally spoilt dog, grandcats ang perhaps grandhorse, although she is usually happy with an apple and a carrot!

The dog already has a new collar waiting for her to wear and ruin in the mud like all the rest!
