Thanks all - I do think the best thing we can do with pets we adopt and love, it to know when the right time has come.
So we will be sad, but we will just remember the good times. She is such a very old lady- the vet has not yet given us the date and time. She will come when she is over this way int he next week or so. No way are we taking her to the vet- 15 miles away.

What more could she have asked for - a loving forever home and when the time comes to fall asleep in the arms of those she trusts and who love her best. ??

So sorry to hear about Pudding, what a wonderful cat she is.

Sad that she is reaching the end of a good life which might never have been. I think it was Jilly Cooper who said 'You will never be loved as much as you will by an animal you have rescued.'

Comforting words, I hope. flowers

So sorry to hear poor Pudding's life is now coming to a close. But, oh my, what a very long life she has enjoyed! Focus on that jura and remember all the happy times. Good for you for taking her in when nobody wanted her. Bless her little socks indeed.

Pudding was found in a cardboardbox, with another cat and 10 kittens, by the M1/M69 jct. almost dead. Thank goodness the lady who saw the box move, insisted her husband drove all the way back to Lutterworth and up again, when he said he could not stop.

They were taken to Cat rescue, who found a foster family, then host families for the kittens- but no-one wanted the mums. And so they ended up with us - Pudding was named so as she was a big girl, with a tummy that flopped on the ground. She moved with us in 2009, and has been very happy here- but she is now VERY thin, with sunken eyes- and recently has been unable to jump on the bed, or missed.. and the time has come. We hoped she would jsut forget to wake up one day... So the vet will come home some time this week- in the meantime, lots of cuddles and softly cooked chicken and her favourite treats.

We adopted her in .... 1995 and the vet then sais she was about 4. Our vet here says he has never seen a cat over the age of 23. Bless her white socks.
