Dog peeing indoors

Our doggie who’s nearly 13 has a cyst on one adrenal gland and a tumour on the other. Vet can’t do anything for her. Problem is the excess drinking and the wee in the house overnight and has wet twice since Saturday. Loath to go for the PTS route while she’s still ‘happy’ and eating. Has anyone used nappies, the Pets At Home ones have dreadful reviews

seacliff I hope everything was ok for you and your dear little Soots. A peaceful end is the best we can do for them, but the guilt is still awful. DH says he’s coming with me but don’t think he’ll stay while the injection is given. Who’s the weaker sex?

Thanks Iris, it was very peaceful thank goodness. He was so thin but the vet was experienced and sympathetic. Soots had his chin resting on my hand, and I was stroking his head, OH was there too. It was the right time - it was a release. We took him home for burial.

I feel drained now. I know they are "just animals" to some, but to us they are truly part of our family. Best wishes to you, I hope it went as well as possible.

It was over quite quickly with me supporting her head and stroking her, she was deaf so was speaking to lovely Lucy the vet. She could see how much muscle had gone from her back legs. Husband didn’t stay which I didn’t mind. Hope she finds our previous pets over the rainbow bridge.

So sad to hear that Sola was Pts today.
You did the very best for her and she was loved very much.
I'm sure that she will find her friends over the rainbow bridge.
For you [flowers

GrannyIris, Im sorry my positive post x posted with your news about the decision to help your much loved dog leave this world. Thank you for letting us know that the move over the rainbow bridge was peaceful and so much the last loving thing you could do.
sea cliff, sending love and positive thoughts to you as well. Our 6 year old dog was put to sleep earlier this year. He'd been very fit then suddenly developed walking problems. It was an aggressive, inoperable tumour along his spine. The vet was wonderful, he went gently to sleep.
Animals - they fill our lives with love and fun. The least we can do is help them to suffer no more

Sola is at peace now, you did best for her - hope you are OK.

We were saying today that we are not religious, but we would love to think there is "a rainbow bridge" where we will all meet again.
