Trying to take my mind off what may be ahead

This morning our terrier -aged 11- didn’t get out of bed to help me feed the birds as he usually does and I assumed he had a sore paw (long story) left him a while, but after a bit I got concerned as he hadn’t moved and it seems he’s lost the use of his back legs.

We have an appointment with the vet at 11am - I’m dreading it.

Trust your judgement because it is based on your love for your fur baby. My thoughts are with you.

I love your story about Duncan. So glad he is all right. I always remember our first dog, a golden retriever. Once when she had her injection she was limping afterwards. Later we noticed her walking fine, ...until she saw us looking when she promptly limped...with the other leg!

Only just found this thread. What a lovely ending. It’s nice to hear good news at the moment. What a little tinker Duncan is.

only a vet can advise you.
I`ve had to make that awful decision twice with my dogs.

Each time was the most horrendously painful thing I ever had to do.

I knew it was for the best for my beloved friends, but it still hurt like hell and still does.

I have a furry friend now, who is 5 and I know in around 10 years (fingers crossed) it will come back to haunt me.

Try to remember the good times and the love you have for each other
