Bl**dy Brexit!

I have 2 cats. One, the female, will eat anything. Some non foodstuffs even. The boy, is an awkward little s*d. He will ONLY eat Whiskas fish pouches in jelly. He has made himself ill in the past, by not eating and I have had to force feed him and drip water into his mouth.

Sooooo, onto the Brexit effect. We have a grocery delivery once a week. I arranged it last year just before the first lockdown. BUT the flippin' supermarket is sold out of Whiskas fish pouches in jelly. They are actually sold out of ALL flavours of Whiskas pouches.

Not sure what to do now!

I wouldn't mind, but he was a damn stray. He should think himself lucky to be fed at all.

Callistemon

That is truly shocking Lucretzia! How are you expected to eat a low fat prawn cocktail - what were they thinking? shock
My dog may have turned his nose up at that, though, he was very discerning. He would stick his nose in the air, walk off and look at me as if to say "Do you expect me to eat this muck"?

???

Exactly, Callistemon! I still haven't got over the shock of it

Have we established why Brexit is to blame for the lack of Whiskas?

Will we be able to blame absolutely everything on Brexit?

I'm trying to download an update on the Fortnite game. My grandson is eagerly awaiting our virtual hook up to shoot some enemies. It's been downloading for over an hour and we're getting tired of the wait.

I know! I shall blame Bl**y Brexit!

Not sure wher you are but I think Pets At Home deliver.

Have you tried giving him tinned tuna in water? Not the tuna in oil. Our cats refuse it, but eat the other with relish.

The makers say that Whiskas is no longer addictive, but all cat owners know otherwise.

I have purposely trained ours cat from kittens to eat four different varities of cat food, plus dry food, tuna and mince.

Tyne Brand food products ( back in the late 1960’s) were made in the same factory as Spillers/Spratts cat and dog food.
Not a lot of people know that......... or care.

I think that not caring is because of br**t

My cats are Russian. I don’t know if they understand English as they ignore everything we say just giving us a supercilious stare. I am slightly concerned they’re actually Russian bots and are feeding info on my exotic(!) lifestyle back to Mr Putin. ?

Re Zooplus being German, I put in a big order on Saturday and it came yesterday- that’s the quickest ever! Maybe it was the Brexit effect. ?‍♀️

I have friends who named their cat Brexit. He was a rehomed male stray

Will we be able to blame absolutely everything on Brexit?

Brexit has scarpered, last seen leaping into the back of a lorry full of Cornish prawns heading for Dover.

Lucretzia Wed 13-Jan-21 14:26:29

Clever cat. No ham. He'll go far

GagaJo Wed 13-Jan-21 14:41:56

He'd have a long journey to get there Callistemon. THAT Brexit lives in Shanghai.

Callistemon Wed 13-Jan-21 14:47:24

??? ???

Chewbacca Wed 13-Jan-21 15:20:20

Still not going to enlighten us on the tenuous link to Brexit GagaJo?

Namsnanny Wed 13-Jan-21 15:37:51

Im keen on finding the answer also Chewbacca confused

Callistemon Wed 13-Jan-21 15:53:40

It's entertaining, though.

I have a picture in my mind of a Chinese cat called Brexit hitching a lift in various lorries from Shanghai to visit his pal GagaPuss in England. His pet passport is out of date so he gets sent home again and hitches a lift in a prawn lorry to Dover, gets across the Channel but then has to find his way back to Shanghai by whatever means he can. His owner, meanwhile, stands forlornly bashing his tin plate shouting Brexit, Brexit where are you Brexit?

Meanwhile his old pal GagaPuss, left behind in England, is bereft without his pal and isn't even offered his favourite food ? miaow, no Whiskas? so decides to go on hunger strike.

To be continued .....
(Is there anyone else who is putting off a job which needs to be done who could continue?)

@Chewbacca, I thought you might like this....

Brilliant Witzend, that gave me a laugh, thank you. If only that was the kind of business they were doing on my lawn; it would be so much easier to clean up. Bleurgh....

Ellianne Wed 13-Jan-21 18:05:42

There he goes!

Lucretzia Wed 13-Jan-21 18:07:27

Callistemon , you have a children's book in you!

That sounds such fun. Keep writing. Jobs can wait!
