We live on a farm and one day my DH found 2 very young kittens in a sack at the gate.
Our elderly (neutered) male house-cat took them under his wing and washed them and cleared up their poo, yes they were young enough to need stimulation to pass poo, and we fed them from a hypodermic needle holder (without the needle) with formula from the vet.
They are now elderly themselves and 'Dada-cat' is long gone. But I'll never forget his devotion.

found cats would change the rules of the game to suit their mood. Sometimes bringing the object back halfway or gradually dropping it further and further away from their owner. Some cats will only fetch for particular people
Contrary and selective that's why we love them, whereas dogs, (I love them too but not quite as much) are anybodies.
