Yes of course.

Yes of course I did😊, but he usually jumped down and into his bed next to mine.

Now I have a cat - purring away.

DD2’s dog, but yes.

No. My dog isn’t allowed on furniture including beds. She is very big and has her own bed anyway. I wouldn’t like to be woken up by a slobbering dog either. Very unhygienic but if that’s your choice it’s up to you.

Sorry, I find this disgusting. It’s a dog, an animal, it shouldn’t be on a bed.
I grew up with dogs and they were never allowed on to furniture.

No, mine sleeps happily downstairs, in his own bed, in his (open) crate, which he has done since he was a puppy. I couldn’t be doing with him licking my face at 5am because he wants his breakfast, which he definitely would do. We have a dog guard at the bottom of the stairs, he is only allowed up by invitation due to his tendency to rampage round like a bull in a China shop.

Yes our Springer, little girl, used to sleep in her bed next to us but when DH got up early as he has always done, she used to get up onto the bed and snuggle into my back, and if I wanted to turn over, she would roll over as well! I used call her my angel! Miss her still.

I love her sleeping on my bed… my life re H’s Alzheimer’s/vascular dementia is horrendous…and waking up with her snuggled up by feet is lovely

I've got a cat who sleeps on the bed. He actually waits for me at the top of the stairs, then gets on the bed when I go into the bedroom.

Yes , our jack Russell has always slept on our bed. She gets in if it's chilly, I wash our bedding every weekend and she has regular baths. Can't see the problem myself

I think you should do as you see fit. It's no one else's business where your dog sleeps.

If you’re happy with your dog on your bed, then that’s all that counts. Ignore anyone who pokes their nose into your business. 🐾

If the OP is even asking this question then I believe she knows the answer herself. It is disgusting.

Dogs aren’t disgusting. My poodle is beautifully clean and gorgeous with it.

Many dog owners have their dogs on the sofa with them and have them on their beds. Nothing bad happens. You’re far more likely to catch something horrible from having a human in your bed.

Lol friendlygingercat that’s true.
Our dog is a bull mastiff so sleeps downstairs, she’d fill our bed and would be no room for us ….she is allowed on our sofa though, throws are laundered regularly.

I always groomed my dogs very carefully . They were shampooed weekly with tea tree oil added and their teeth were brushed . I didn't mind if they crept up onto my bed at night .
I'd wake up with numb legs .
It's your choice !

So sorry, I totally understand, my DH had a stroke and bleeds on the brain which means I am now his full time career, so if your dog sleeping on the bed makes your life more bearable there is really nothing more to say.

Calendargirl Sun 07-Sept-25 07:26:52

I would hate having any animal in bed with me, but each to his own.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 07-Sept-25 07:27:40

We’ve shared our life with dogs for more than 30000 years.

Go reckon.

Currently lying here reading all your posts with our Labrador boy lying across my feet. It’s his ā€˜special’ time of the day and I find it quite comforting. He doesn’t lie on it at any other time of the day.
Each to their own of course.
