Yogagirl it is good news that I can have treatment and even better a good surgeon prepared to do I for me after our and his holiday, it was a shock but he said injections would be waste of time as only last few weeks.

I feel so full of hope now.

About being "too bossy" and "breaking rules" - That's what I mean about some of these young parents seeing things differently than we would. It seems to me they're cutting gps off for reasons we never would have. We might argue with the gps because of it or maybe cut down the amount of time we spent with them or whatever. But co? No. That's why I imagine so many basically good gps are taken by surprise by a co. (And yes, of course, I know that, in some cases, such as many here, there is no obvious reason.)

celebgran, my sister had the cage stabilisation surgery. I think the reason she was successful and many are not is because she followed all the rules after. She walked the required distance daily, not a step more. She lifted the allowed amounts, not a bit more. Only 2 lbs for weeks. No moving the flour bin or even a big 3L milk. She lifted treats and a wine bottle after she was off her pain tablets.

celebgran I know we've had our issues on this thread, but this is said out of genuine concern. Is there any history of blood clotting in your parents/family? I only ask because this type of surgery can often lead to pulmonary embolism. I speak from recent family experience. It's addressed simply with blood thinners post op but it's perhaps something to discuss with your surgeon if there's any history.

However, I did think your comment about my mother possibly being 'mistaken' re my GF's WW1 service was rather naive. I appreciate that you offered that thought in good faith but you are way off beam. Sorry...

My mother spent her whole life CO family and friends and always had a 'plausible' explanation. I am very fortunate that I have a good relationship with my half siblings, but we have been deprived of so many extended family relationships due to her lies. Now, at my time of life I lack the desire to reunite with these people who will be total strangers.

Not that I am aware but sadly my ed had pulmonary embolism after surgery last year, we weren't told but naturally as her mum it worried me sick she nearly died but made full recovery far as we are thank god,

celebgran, Yes the surgery was a success. She had to lose breast weight first, a reduction, her weight dropped to 8 stone. She worked (prior) on strength and fitness for recovery.

I have a question. I understand when GPs are not following rules or intrusive behaviour leading to CO. If AC views of their parents are coloured by how they were raised or they feel the GPs are a bad influence and thus CO. But I don't understand the "bossy" bit as a reason to a CO?

Thank you Starlady Looking back, I can see that my s.i.l just didn't like me or my other D [estD's sister], or any of my estD birth family come to that. He wanted us gone from the time he & my D&GD moved from living with me into their own place, we felt the cold shoulder right from the start of their move, we got the message his family came first, but we looked past it and didn't think it would result in estrangement, we just excepted his family come first.

No Starlady the EC don't care about what their children think and I would think that at four years old our little grandson would wonder where we are. They only are thinking about their narcisstic little selves.
And imagine our children thinking we should move so they could have our houses.

Do they realize that they wouldn't have saved anything if it wasn't for their parents letting them stay at their home? In my day I wouldn't have gone on any trip if I had saved money for a home. CelebgranIn the states the doctors give you a blood thinner before and after an operation. I'm sure they do the same across the pond. But yes do talk to your surgeon about it. When will you have this? Did you say July?

Yes rhinestone after 22nd July our rubymwedding 16th I told surgeon that I would forgo our holiday for that but he said no need he was away until 22nd so looks like after that date,

I will be going to ipswich hospital where he operates for pre op assessment and more information he gave me confidence because he said he has performed hundreds of these ops very high success rate it's not worry for him but he accepted I was concerned and in shock?

Neither of my parents has pulmonary embolisms but my father had massive coronary at 60 fatal so they tend worry more about my blood pressure, it was v good last week I need 2 good readings from dr.

Norah sorry if I am late to comment; you mentioned bossy as a reason some AC don't like their MiL?

My MiL was a very bossy, very clever woman. She was a senior Civil Servant and ran a large department - so she needed to be. Surely we want our DGC to be successful in life and sometimes that will mean bossy traits in the family being useful?

I knew my MiL was like that before DH and I married - another observation (and apols if it is an old old one) why would anyone marry into a family where they didn't like their prospective in laws?
