Thank you Luckylegs Star & Celebgran I'm feeling better, but not completely, glad you're feeling better C, early days yet though.

Rhinestone the Doc just sent me next door to the pharmacy for some seasick tabs, took a few, did help, but haven't taken them since, if it continues I'll ask the doc for those tabs you mentioned, thanks for that. Hope you are OK were you are in USA with those hurricanes R and I think you maybe suffering from stress with your palpations!

Thank you Madgran for your support xx

My little Lilly is going for her post op check-up this morning, the op went well, but she's been terrible ill since, sickness & terrible diarrhea [spell check please] They gave me some paste that you shoot through like a glue-gun to help with the sickness, but it's peanut butter & oil, the last thing you would want in your mouth if your feeling sick confused

Smileless2012 Fri 08-Sept-17 09:42:59

Yes Wendy you've hit the nail on the head. Many GP's get cut out of their AC's and GC's lives by the misdeeds and abuse by their AC and their partners.

Madgransmile

Glad you found us Rhinestone. I think we've all experienced the pounding heart and internal shaking; it's anxiety and a horrible feeling. Take deep breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth until it passes. Hope you and yours will be OK with the terrible weather on its way; stay safe.

Hope all goes well for you today Celeb, let us know what the surgeon says. Oh yes that's a date; Mr. S. and I look forward to celebrating our Ruby anniversary with you and Mr. C.smile.

Thanks Yogagirl, we're very lucky despite our estrangement and it's good to take stock of what's good in your life.

My guiniea pigs are sooo cute and it's difficult to be patient while they get used to me because I just want to kiss and cuddle them Starladysmile. Our little dog is fascinated by them and our cat doesn't seem bothered; a good thing I thinkgrin.

Luckylegsgrinat first I thought what a coincidence that Rhinestone's got 2 guinea pigs and is going on holiday too. I know you wouldn't be any trouble so if you can squeeze yourself into a suitcase for a 9.5 hour flight you're more than welcome.

Off to the gym now, catch up with you all later.

Rhinestone Fri 08-Sept-17 11:20:38

SmilelessHappy Anniversary to you and Mr. S. Have you named your cute little babies yet?
Thank you all for your concern over the hurricane but I don't live in Florida... just like to vacation there . I wish Smileless was there when we are.
But all but one person I know is out of there or further north.
YogagirlI do hope they give you the antivert. It's so much more effective. It's the standard over here for vertigo. Being a pharmacists daughter I have learned quite a bit about meds. Feel better.
I'm getting concerned because the stomach and bladder shaking could be signs or something else more serious. I don't need this now.
Have a good day all.

Starlady Fri 08-Sept-17 12:47:50

Take care, Rhinestone!

Smileless2012 Fri 08-Sept-17 13:41:25

You need to get it checked out Rhinestone better safe than sorry as the old saying goesflowers

I have asked GNHQ to remove the other Support Thread I started (number THREE) so we only then have this one.

celebgran glad to hear lovely hair do has helped you. Nothing like looking glam to cheer us up?

Yoga good to hear dizziness gone or helped? I get swirly feelings when I stand up too quickly, due to high BP I have been told. Can be unnerving but bearable.

I saw my osteopath this week about painful back spasms, its going to take a few appointments. almost every movement today has meant bones clicking all over! Very amusing.

TGIF fellow est grandmas.....enjoy your weekends..

Yogagirl Sat 09-Sept-17 07:57:30

Well my ND & family flow off on holiday yesterday, leaving the torrential rain & cold behind them and headed for the sun. I took them to the airport and we stopped for lunch first. I felt sad that evening, feeling quite alone with them so far away, but then got a call from them, to let me know they had arrived safely and everything was lovely there. That phone call really lifted my spirits and made me feel cared about smile

As for the vertigo, it's still with me, surprising how many of my students came to me at the end of the class to be shown the technic to get rid, I had a little circle round me Thursday afternoon going through the technic shock I will re-do for myself this morning, and thanks Silver re moving slowly whilst turning in bed, really helps. I'm very concerned about it, being a yoga teacher balance is vital! and I have another yoga retreat coming up in Crete where all the students look forward to learning the headstand and at the moment I can't even do a shoulder-stand shock I'm so dizzy! Thanks Rhinestone I have that med. name written down in case it doesn't shift.
Sparkly x

Hope someone's battened the hatches for your place in Florida Smileless you must be worried.

Sunshine this morning, so washing out grin

Good weekend all xx

silverlining48 Sat 09-Sept-17 08:09:07

Hi again yoga. Sorry to hear you are still having problems with dizziness. I really understand all too well how debilitating it is.
After years of intermittent but increasing attacks of labyrinthitis ( severe vertigo attacks with violent vomitting) i was prescribed medication called betahistine (serc) which has to be taken every day, and this has really helped. I am now down to one a day and have not had an attack of any sort for over 4 years.

You can get a very effective injection if the attack is violent and my husband was taught to administer this at home.

Good luck.

Yogagirl Sat 09-Sept-17 08:24:04

Thanks Silver Hate taking meds of any sort, but may have to if it doesn't pass soon. I rattle with vitamins etc. though grin

I watched that 'Gypsy Kids' last night and the closeness of the Grandmother and her Granddaughter was so touching, just as I would have been with mine

silverlining48 Sat 09-Sept-17 08:41:13

Agree about taking meds, dont like it either, and its the only one i do take, but too nervous to stop now. Just in case it returns. Eeekk
See how it goes, it may just go off and never return. I hope so because its horrible feeling so unstable plus because of what you do.
Good luck.

silverlining48 Sat 09-Sept-17 08:45:45

Didnt see the programme yoga but yes, grandchildren can bring joy and it must be so painful not to be able to see them. sad

celebgran Sat 09-Sept-17 15:25:28

Hello All
Just to say I am going to take a break from Gransnet for a while. We were on holiday last week - it should have been a lovely relaxing time but I felt really rotten - physically and emotionally. I think that all of the stress of the past 7 years has finally caught up with me and I need to start making some changes. I care about all of my friends here but I think that reading about so many sad situations is not good for me at the moment.
I`m sure I`ll be back at some point but in the meantime please look after yourselves. I am indebted to all of you for helping to keep me going when things seemed very bleak.
X

WendyS Your comment to Smileless (I assume you are referring to her comments on reasons for cut-off)"makes me wonder if I misread your original post ...if I did I apologise although I still think it was tactlessly expressed! If you are also dealing with CO or potential CO then I hope that you can find support here!

Smileless2012 Sun 10-Sept-17 12:44:12

Take care eddie and never forget that we are all here for you when you're ready to return. You will be missedsad.

MissAdventure Sun 10-Sept-17 12:47:11

Best wishes to you, Eddiecat. I sincerely hope you feel better soon. X flowers

Smileless2012 Tue 12-Sept-17 14:29:43

Afternoon ladies. Hope you're all OK.

You must be missing your DD, GD and s.i.l. Yogagirl. Hope little Lillie has fully recovered from her op.

We had some news yesterday about our villa in Florida; all's wellsmile. It was a relief to get a message and some pics from our friend over there. A lot of properties are without power, there's no petrol (gas) and food is in short supply but hopefully things will have been sorted to a large degree before we fly out in a couple of weeks.

I've named my babies Kelly and Cruella Rhinestone; just had to give her that name as she has black and white fur which is quite literally all over the placegrin.

They're still very skittish but slowly calming down. I'm spending more time stroking them in their hutch than getting them out for cuddles so they get used to my scent and voice. Hopefully in a few weeks they'll stop freaking me out when I try to catch them for cuddleshmm.

Smileless2012 Tue 12-Sept-17 14:30:55

No, that's not right I meant they'll stop freaking outblush.

Yogagirl Wed 13-Sept-17 10:16:17

Thank you Smileless So good to hear your home in Florida is ok. I've been watching the news avidly.

Yes I do miss my ND & family, they phoned me again and I missed the call angry. Met up with my sister yesterday at Lakeside, had a lovely lunch, looking over the waterside with water fountains! you wouldn't think you'd get that sort of view there, would you. Lilly is doing lots better now, stitches out tomorrow and last of the antibiotics smile

Sun shinning, so out with the washing, hope it doesn't blow off the line with these high winds shock

Rhinestone Wed 13-Sept-17 12:49:18

YogagirlHow's your vertigo? Hope it's gone for you. Can't be good doing that downward dog pose can it?
Smileless I am so happy your Florida place is okay. The place we stay at is also. I have family and friends all over that state and thankfully they are all safe with minimal destruction. You will see the aftermath that's for sure.
I love the name of your newest family members Cruella. Is there a reason for Kelly's name?
Mr. R has called his daughter the last two times but we haven't heard from her in over a month. So I'm thinking ... now what. Is she going to estrange herself from him too? I told him to call her but it's like it's a standoff.
I don't get it.
