I don’t want to offend anyone but I’ve just discovered that my dh wees in the shower! It was mentioned on a tv programme and I asked dh if he ever did that and he admitted that he does when he’s caught short! I was shocked and I am no way a prude. What do others think of this?

sometimes if you have cystitis or have just had a baby its actually easier to do it in the shower and cleans you after too

BlueBelle urine is not sterile.

Gonegirl Fri 16-Nov-18 10:04:49

I think the idea that wee is sterile has now been proved to be a myth. (Going by Google)

Aepgirl Fri 16-Nov-18 10:05:03

What does it matter? It's all water wherever it's come from.

Gonegirl Fri 16-Nov-18 10:05:30

Crossed posts harrigran.

Yuck, didn’t know people did this. Disgusting.

Is this a 'wind up' Gonegirl Why would you want to know if someone sits or squats???

Gonegirl Fri 16-Nov-18 10:08:05

I guess we wash loads of bacteria off of ourselves anyway when we shower. But it's just, why?! Horses for courses.

Gonegirl Fri 16-Nov-18 10:10:08

Sorry jenwren. I guess was just getting my head round it. Thinking perhaps of the getting up again.

When my son was a toddler he had a temporary physical problem.
The medical advice was to put him in a warm bath when he had difficulty passing urine.
Worked every time.
It is because your body drops in temperature as you undress and get in the shower, blood vessels constrict, blood rushes to your core and your blood pressure rises.
Your body expels urine which make your blood pressure drop to normal.

Urine is sterile when exiting the body unless of course there is a urinary tract infection.

I believe some men also do “other things” in the shower!! Often wondered why an ex took so long!!

sluttygran Fri 16-Nov-18 10:30:43

Wee is not dirty - in a healthy person it is almost sterile. It contains the same body wastes as sweat - salt, water, urea, etc. - so peeing in the shower isn’t going to add to the bacterial load of your shower or bathing area.
Poo, on the other hand, is loaded with potentially harmful bacteria, so that definitely goes down the loo!

GabriellaG Fri 16-Nov-18 10:37:52

Done it myself. Nothing wrong with it. grin

Jalima1108 Fri 16-Nov-18 10:40:16

I think that years ago potty training was done much earlier and sitting a child on the potty then turning on a tap encouraged them to do a wee.
My DM did this so as soon as a tap is turned on, I feel the urge to go grin

Jalima1108 Fri 16-Nov-18 10:41:26

Sitting a child on the potty then turning on the tap was a way to encourage them to 'go' years ago. DM recommended this, she must have trained me that way, because as soon as I hear running water, I get the urge to go!!

Margs Fri 16-Nov-18 10:42:02

You shouldn't have asked - you could have stayed blissfully ignorant. I bet you wish you had kept your trap shut, admit it!

As Homer Simpson would say:"Doh!"

Jalima1108 Fri 16-Nov-18 10:42:08

That was odd, I posted but it wasn't there so I typed it again.
Ah well, sorry

BlueBelle Fri 16-Nov-18 10:43:05

Ah well it’s looks like I m in excellent company here the majority of posters seem to be shower wee-ers too I don’t purposely jump in the shower to wee but if it happens it happens no big deal So Suffuler in answer to your question no your husband is not dirty he’s not a pervert and he doesn’t have a bad ‘habit’ he’s doing what half or much more than half the population do regularly unless of course you mean he pops it out and wees in the showers when he’s fully dressed and not having a shower now that’s a completely different ball game ( whoops excuse the pun didn’t see that one coming ?)

Craftycat Fri 16-Nov-18 10:44:37

NO!! I always have a wee before I get in the shower.
I'll ask DH tonight- I do so hope he says no!

Oldwoman70 Fri 16-Nov-18 10:46:44

Not something I have ever done - but can't see why it would be a problem. If some find the thought unpleasant then don't do it - after all it's not compulsory!

dorsetpennt Fri 16-Nov-18 10:47:44

Lazy gits ! What a disgusting habit .

GabriellaG Fri 16-Nov-18 10:54:24

Sex in the shower grinblush

MissAdventure Fri 16-Nov-18 10:55:44

I have a bit more class.
Wee on a bath sponge and wring it out in the sink..
Before anyone gets too incensed ITS A JOKE!

icanhandthemback Fri 16-Nov-18 10:56:44

Yuck. It’s not something I’d do and neither does the DH. It sounds most unhygienic ?
