Kill Coronovirus with Prayer

Turn to prayer for protection against the present virus. There are prayers for pestilence used in the past. Trust in the Lord.
In a letter from Padre Pio to the seers of Garabandal, he gave the following advice ...." Pray and make others pray because the world is at the beginning of its perdition. They don’t believe in you or in your talks with the Lady in White; they’ll do it when it's too late."

So, many are unaware that we are all moving towards a
personal encounter with God.
A warning will come first from which many will die - not from anything physical but from emotion within the heart as the inner warning, felt by everyone, will be a time when each person sees before them, the good and the evil they have committed in their lives. The realization of what they have done will be just too much to bear for many.
At the outset, a sign will appear in the sky which will be alike to 2 comets crashing.

On the 29th of March 2020 there will be a re-dedication of England to Mary.
In 1381, England was dedicated to Mary by King Richard II and was 'set apart for her among the nations. This year, the Christians of England are called to make a personal dedication to Mary, taking up her example as Christ’s first disciple.
History shows us that when the people pray a surrender to God’s will for their lives, society is transformed. By taking up this personal dedication in 2020, you can be a part of the renewal of this nation, drawing ourselves closer to the will of our loving God, through Mary.

People have turned away from God .....but it is not too late.
As a Christian I have to try to help people turn back to God. There are those who will not listen ....for many reasons, but we cannot give up the fight to save others.
God Bless and protect you.

Not the Virgin Mary, then, rather you mean Mary Magdalene, Jesus's first disciple.

If you'd spoken in plain English instead of in tongues, posters may have understood you better, OP.

The Bible warns us that this type of thing will happen in the last days, of course literally this could be many years. I don’t agree with you about Mary. I assume you are Catholic. She is the same as us, and says as much in the gospel of Luke. The only way to God is through Jesus. The Bible also says that many people won’t listen, about two thirds of mankind at the end. It is still good to try though, and I commend you for being brave enough to do it. I’ve been praying for this virus to burn itself out, but of course eventually, God will finish the world , but it may not be in any of our lifetimes.

Gods won’t - science or humans will.

Missfoodlove Tue 10-Mar-20 22:25:17

I think we may all have a prayer in us in times of extreme fear no matter what we think we do or don’t believe.

Eglantine21 please don't be put off from your support of Mary's Meals. Here is their Statement of Values and I hope it will reassure you - I'd especially like to draw your attention to the last sentence: It is also a work that consists of, respects and reaches out to people of all faiths and none.

Good evening Callistemon. Yes, I did mean the Virgin Mary was the first disciple of Jesus.
She was the first evangelizer and the first disciple of her Son because she was the first to believe in and follow him.

Callistemon Tue 10-Mar-20 23:11:18

Mary Magdalene is known as the first disciple of Christ though, is she not?

Eloethan Tue 10-Mar-20 23:40:31

I find this OP presumptuous, sanctimonious and, to be honest, utter rubbish.

And God will "finish the world" will he/she/it? Why would such a malevolent force be loved and worshipped?

Esspee Tue 10-Mar-20 23:48:38

Words fail me!

Chestnut Tue 10-Mar-20 23:48:51

Eloethan asks why will God finish the world, well there's a story there! You need to study the Bible for the answer to that. God is not evil, the force of evil that we call Satan is evil.

Hetty58 Tue 10-Mar-20 23:49:03

What a complete load of old codswallop! I can't believe that anyone bothered posting it!

Chestnut Tue 10-Mar-20 23:51:01

Eloethan don't you rather think the malevolent force that is worshipped much more now is the force of evil, not God?

Padre Pio was debunked as being a fraud, faking the stigmata that he was canonised for. Good grief!

Dec46 Wed 11-Mar-20 00:18:43

I'm putting my faith in NHS and hope it gets us through the coming months without asking how much praying we've done!

vampirequeen Wed 11-Mar-20 07:11:39

Is Satan all that bad? He used to be God's best mate....see Job. He only became 'evil' when he and God fell out and there was a battle in Heaven (according to the story). History is written by the victor so maybe Satan's just had a bad press.

Think about the Adam and Eve story. God wanted to keep them in ignorance i.e. he didn't want them to develop. Perhaps, rather than being evil, Lucifer simply felt that it wasn't right to keep them in ignorance. How would the human race develop if they didn't have certain knowledge. So he gave them the knowledge they needed. God wanted to keep humans as pets. Lucifer wanted to give them the knowledge to develop and grow in their own right.

Fairy story? Perhaps but just as accurate as the Bible version.

Eglantine, I'm sorry this thread has you doubting the work of Mary's Meals. It is a wonderful charity, who support everyone, regardless of faith and beliefs, no indoctrination.
I'm really annoyed that the OP has damaged the reputation of Mary's Meals with their comments.

I never usually respond to religious posts on GN, as my faith is personal and private.
However, I have to say that not all Catholics are religious zealots, the OP is an exception in my opinion. I have never come across anyone like this.
Many of us live our faith quietly, respecting all other faiths and non believers, and as intelligent people continue to question our faith.
Prayer will not cure the Coronovirus, research, knowledge and people being responsible will.

This has to be one of the strangest and disturbing posts I have read on GN. confused

Wheniwasyourage Wed 11-Mar-20 08:31:21

Exactly what Marydoll said.

Mary's Meals is a simple but very effective charity, and it is a shame if people are put off it by the (perfectly legal) views of a supporter. I think you would find a range of views among the supporters of any charity, so please continue your support, Eglantine21.

AnnyNanny Wed 11-Mar-20 08:43:59

Okay, is I'm not a Christian so what? In fact, I consider myself an atheist and this sounds like a huge nonsense to me.

mumofmadboys Wed 11-Mar-20 08:56:28

I like the motto 'Pray to God but continue to row to the shore'

Marydoll Wed 11-Mar-20 08:58:49

mumofmadboys, thanks I like that. smile

Marydoll Wed 11-Mar-20 09:07:54

I shouldn't have used the word damage, in my comment about Mary's Meals, I should have said caused people to question whether they should continue to support Mary's meals.

We have religious freedom in this country and the OP has every right to evangelise, but I think this poster has not achieved what they set out to do, in fact quite the opposite. sad

endlessstrife Wed 11-Mar-20 09:27:20

vampire God doesn’t want us as pets. He needed Satan to bring us to the point where we would choose. Everything is in His plan. This life is a rehearsal for those who believe.

Callistemon Wed 11-Mar-20 09:39:00

What happens to those who doubt, then, or do not believe? They just end up feeding this earth?
I don't mind that, it needs all the help it can get at the moment.

Chestnut Wed 11-Mar-20 09:47:43

vampirequeen is Satan all that bad
Er, yes. No-one could argue there is good and there is evil. We see man committing great acts of evil all the time so can you really question whether these things are 'bad' of course they are. But is it just their own choice or is there a force of evil which moves them? Just as there is a force of good which inspires people to do great acts of goodness and kindness? If so then this is what we know as God and Satan.

I would hate to think that children will go to bed hungry or literally starve because posters takes offence at another’s rather bizarre post! Even if there is a religious element to Mary’s Meals at least some of the children will survive long enough to mature and make their own minds up!
