Nothing no cars no people going past

It's very quiet here. The young bloke across the road had just arrived home with some shopping. That's as exciting as it gets around here.

We live on a cul de sac next to a river. Nothing much happens on this side of the bridge. 😊

I live down a long country lane near Dartmoor, next door to a farm.
It's very quiet here, but I can hear the farm horses whinying

It’s quiet. My neighbours on one side have gone away at least for the day and my other neighbour is in her house. Not much happening on the rest of the road it seems.

My street is mainly full of bungalows which house older people, therefore its usually quiet. No signs of movement tonight. Just a neighbour's tree gently blowing in the breeze and some seagulls swooping about

RandomGoogleImages, what is the purpose of sending these questionaires to Gransnet? Are you creating some sort of information database?

I live in a very quiet street close to central London. Rarely see traffic, just driving schools. It’s a great place to learn a three point turn. I passed my test with a five point turn. It was a tiny street with a large lorry parked.
Most likely the wild foxes are throwing food everywhere as our neighbours always forget to lock their food bin.

Two very bizarre threads from randomgoogleimages.

What decade were your grandparents born in and what can you see?

I just don’t get it.

Allira Sun 26-Apr-26 11:25:03

An there was another one too.

Phishing?

What can you see in front of your house?
Does it have a name or a number?
What was your mother's maiden name?
What year was she born?
Are there any banks left in your town, if so which one do you use?

it was curious to post a ‘what can you see from your window’
at a time when it was dark here

Yes we must all be very careful, people are too keen to give away information.

I once read a post from a now ex poster, it gave away so much information that I was able to find the person the town etc.

I alerted her immediately and she had the thread removed, it was an innocent mistake but could have had serious implications.

Visitors parking their cars outside my house because the house they are visiting down the road has adult children (20s-30s) still living at home, with cars; the double garage is full of junk and they won't park the cars behind each other because someone would have to get out of bed and move theirs first thing in the morning.
I have visitors today; my car is in the garage but only room for one car on the drive. happens most weekends; very annoying.
Those neighbours who tarmac, pave, gravel their front gardens to provide extra off road parking are castigated for destroying the environment.

Nothing happening here either, I live down a lane and overlook the loch. Beautiful in the sunshine today. 😊

A bunch of late teenage girls have just walked past laughing and talking over each other - reminded me of my DGD who is much their age.

Sago Sun 26-Apr-26 20:28:08

I have reported this poster, more odd threads now and it may be phishing.

He/she is asking about pets/ethnicity/habitat it’s looking dodgy. Please don’t give anything away.

Doodledog Sun 26-Apr-26 20:38:52

Nothing happens here either. During the day the pigeon who is nesting in the ivy swoops down every hour or so, bounces on the hedge to steady itself, flies off to get food then returns to the nest.

There's a school round the corner, and at home time we sometimes hear people walking to the bus stop, but usually they swarm down the road at the end of the street towards the bus station.

Otherwise there are comings and goings to the church opposite, as it has a busy community centre that hosts all sorts of groups, and the traffic warden prowls in search of cars without residents' passes, but that's about it.

The two foxes I feed every evening have just arrived. I love watching them. Two hedgehogs as well.

Chardy Mon 27-Apr-26 06:56:04

They're emptying the bins outside atm

fancyflowers Mon 27-Apr-26 07:21:50

The wood pigeons are out in force, cooing away. I do love to hear them.
