The recent kerfuffle over the longer lines disappearing off people's screens got us wondering about whether accessing Gransnet on an iPad or other tablet raises other issues that we're not aware of. (At GNHQ we mainly work on laptops.)

As part of our mission to make Gransnet as good as possible, it would be useful to find out if there's anything that annoys you about Gransnet on tablets - or indeed that you like.

Please let us know brew

On ipad you do have to keep going back to the forum headings as you can't toggle between threads like you can on a laptop or PC. An app would be good!

I will have a look on my tablet but don't hold your breath I have only registered my details on it since I got it I find it too small I use my lap top all the time, can't complain about it as DH bought it as a surprise and I didn't have the courage to tell him I did not want one.hmm

when don't quite understand? I just go back to "Active" but as I tend not to GN on the laptop am not aware I could do it differently? (That's the voice raised at end of sentence cf pedants' corner!)

Otherwise, no problems with the iPad. Long lines have disappeared too.

I go to 'last hour' Ariadne so perhaps that explains it x

I have to scroll down to find my bookmark, although it does go to the correct page. On my laptop I am taken to the exact position. I have an hp touch pad, which I suspect is inferior to the ipad. Not a great problem but just an observation.

I haven't found any problems on my iPad

I use the active button to go to each section or sometimes the last hour one but it would be great is these buttons showed at the bottom of the posts too so you don't have to scroll back to the top. I have not found any big problems using the iPad and this screen is so clear.

bez there is an active button at the bottom of the page underneath the emotions section, this saves you scrolling back up to the top of the

Does anyone know if I can use my I pad to take a picture and then upload to my photos, and if so how idiot language please...

Littlenellie Mon 20-Aug-12 10:57:30

Oops told you I was an an idiot have just read through and it can't be done, but can it be sent to your emails then sent from an email to here, tried from my phone and that didn't work either...

jeni Mon 20-Aug-12 11:09:37

If you have a mac computer it will upload automatically via the cloud!

Littlenellie Mon 20-Aug-12 11:21:39

No I don't have one of those jeni but I can get the cloud app on here,is that the same....

Ariadne Mon 20-Aug-12 11:33:48

What I do, nellie is:

E- mail myself (from the laptop) the photos I want on the IPad, then save them, which is dead easy.
If people send me e -mails with photos, the I just save them on the iPad.

But you'd probably thought of all that!

Littlenellie Mon 20-Aug-12 11:39:17

ariadne haven't got a camera, but can take brilliant ones with the iPad,so I thought if I could then send them to my email on the laptop, then email them to my profile on here....phew..confused

jeni Mon 20-Aug-12 11:39:23

Alternatively. Backup your iPad to your computer (which you should be doing anyway!)
