<whispers> Over here! World Poetry Day contest this way..

A house is not a home, they say
Without a cat beside the fire
Children shrieking till they tire
And a cup of tea at the end of the day.

My New Baby Granddaughter, Amelia Ivy.

Ten tiny fingers and tiny toes,
Long lashes and a button nose.
I marvel at this little beauty,
She's not mine, but what a cutie.

My daughter, she is 6 you know,
has come so very far.
clever and pretty I've watched her grow,
She is my shining star.

My children are so dear to me, I love them all, everyone!
They eat me out of house and home
They bring their washing to be done
They leave my house a mess
Oh! How glad I am though, when they have all gone!

There was a young family from Fife

Who laughed and had fun all their life

They all did their best

To help out the rest

And avoid any family strife

I know its old but was my sons eager recital at that magical age of 7.

I wish I was a glow worm, glowworms are never glum
cos how can you be grumpy when the sun shines out your bum

Hand OUT of trousers!
Stop picking your nose!
What are those things in your hair?!!! (My God, they're moving!)

You're a mucky little 'erbert.
Is that your father's drill you''ve got?!
You can't do that to your brother!
And next door' s cat doesn't want to be shot!

Dull, grey, chill out there.
Fragrant, friendly warmth in here.
Family Dinner.

When he finally gets his act together
And presents me with the long awaited grandaughter,
I will buy a cradle with a rose covered coverlet,
And a silver bracelet.
And there will be days of fairy wands, cupcakes and
Daisies in egg cups.

never to appear or be mused upon ..some lonely hour when
I have gone

hear me silently with your heart feel me like a beat..so sweet.
always to be near and dear upon my word while I am here

My three daughters have produced four boys and no girls so:-


My family of girls had boys!

They had such similar faces!

But the boys are always caked in mud,

And don't do up their laces.

Oceans divide us,
My warm arms yearn to hold you
Across the cruel miles.

Families – who needs them?
Worry, stress, anxiety,
Always willing, seldom free –
Then my grandchild smiles at me.
Families – I need them!

He's gone I know,I cry,I scream
And then awake! Was not a dream.
It's real, he's dead,will I survive?
I do but wish, he was alive.

To my late darling husband.
