So as many of you will know, following on from the whole selfie phenomenon, Galen volunteered to do her own pose to raise money (and awareness) for research into cancer. (You can find the original thread HERE

That got us thinking, and in consultation with Galen we have come up with the idea of doing our very own Calendar Girls style calendar. To raise money (and we are happy for people to decide which charity). To raise awareness (ditto). And also to turn on its head the idea that older people (and one person we spoke to who is working to get "older" people online is targetting those above 45...) cannot be internet savvy and up to speed with the latest technology.

So - classic poses with any bits that need hiding (smile) hidden not with the obvious cakes and flowers but with smart phones, lap tops, tablets, e readers etc.

Galen has laid claim to the Rokeby Venus with a Mac Air instead of a mirror. Now all we need is 11 other gransnetters to volunteer too (groups welcome!)

There will be nothing on show that you don't want on show. Logistics are being logisticised (is that a word?!) so do pick a pose and join the fun...

Don't worry. There will be takers. Look how keen that minx Phoenix is.

Galen Wed 02-Apr-14 17:32:14

Riverwalk Wed 02-Apr-14 17:34:08

I knew I should have kept the packaging from my printer - those big chunks of polystyrene would have come in handy!

Galen Wed 02-Apr-14 17:35:39

Riverwalk Wed 02-Apr-14 17:35:41

Riverwalk Wed 02-Apr-14 17:36:38

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 02-Apr-14 17:38:02

Riverwalk Wed 02-Apr-14 17:40:32

Nonu Wed 02-Apr-14 17:48:49

Just come across this as be out all afternoon , it sounds rather fun to me .

Galen Wed 02-Apr-14 18:14:53

phoenix the Christine Keeler one is brill!
Shall we put you down for that?

Riverwalk Wed 02-Apr-14 18:33:33

Galen thank goodness for that ..... I was thinking of the Botticelli Venus and whether you had enough pearls!

Not that I'm implying........

harrigran Wed 02-Apr-14 18:36:04

April fools day was yesterday.

Gally Wed 02-Apr-14 18:58:12

I'm up for it, so long as it's not too soon (suntan/diet wink)

Model Writing Postcards by Carl Larsson. Substitute iPad for cards?

Personally, I rather fancy the pre Raphaelites - Ophelia by Millais wearing a pair of earphones - but may possibly have problem with the electrics in the lake!

ffinnochio Wed 02-Apr-14 19:02:47

I have been a nude model - would a painting do? smile

Anne58 Wed 02-Apr-14 19:25:09

Actually, now I think back to my dim and distant past, I was once shown nude and about 20ft high at Windsor Festival................

Galen re the Christine Keeler, I'll think about it. Part of the problem might be that I don't have the right chair, let alone the legs. My shoulders and arms are ok ish though......could I have a wig? I'm in the process of growing my hair, and it's not going too well.

Re. the comment about profile pics, I must point out that the one of me on the day I married Mr P is now 10 years old. (Where the hell did that go?)

Anne58 Wed 02-Apr-14 20:18:54

I have a limited edition print of this on our sitting room wall.

My ex husband always said that it could have been me! (In the days when I had long reddish hair) When I asked for it back, his then partner said "Oh you mean the painting that looks like you"

Any picture of me would be reminiscent of certain Lucien Freud ones and I don't mean his portrait of the Queen! I would need a great deal of airbrushing. grin

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 02-Apr-14 20:32:20

It shows too much Gally!

And are you really saying you still look like that? #pantsonfire
