Idle curiosity re. blocking sender?

Afternoon all, I was just wondering what happens when you use the "block sender" option in your pm's? Obviously any message sent by the person blocked would not reach your inbox, but does the sender get a message telling them that they have been blocked?

I have never felt the need to block anyone, so it's just idle curiosity, but I would like to know!

What's left to think about? confused

Ana Mon 23-Jun-14 19:22:24

when, you aren't very likely to be blocked...

Ana

What's left to think about? confused

We'll think about what's going on and try to sort it as soon as we can. You shouldn't receive messages from someone you've blocked.

Ana Mon 23-Jun-14 19:27:08

No one has....confused

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 23-Jun-14 19:29:29

(Ana - psst! - perhaps they are thinking about why the blocked pm'r is not notified. (I didn't get notified when - you know....! ) hmm

whenim64 Mon 23-Jun-14 19:30:26

Wait.......no hang on......I've got it now. We all know that no-one knows if they've been blocked or not, but GNHQ hasn't got the remotest idea. Simples! grin

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 23-Jun-14 19:30:28

Oh. Now I am totally confused ! grin

(It's all that phoenix's fault) hmm

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 23-Jun-14 19:31:31

Poor Julie. sad You have that cake, sweetie. smile

Anne58 Mon 23-Jun-14 19:32:47

blush

Probably doesn't help, but I've checked my inbox and haven't received a pm from you since oh bugger, I've forgotten, will have to go back into it now and check!

Anne58 Mon 23-Jun-14 19:33:30

14.47.49 !

Ana Mon 23-Jun-14 19:37:47

So, after a lot of messing about, the experiment worked and we now know the answer to the OP. No problem! grin

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 23-Jun-14 19:38:34

shock I've sent three since then! Definitely blocked. And no notification. hmm

Ana Mon 23-Jun-14 19:47:23

You wouldn't want to tell someone they'd been blocked. They might get nasty on the forum.

(Still don't know why Pavlov, with or without dogs, is relevant, when!)

merlotgran Mon 23-Jun-14 19:58:11

I can't believe this has run to three pages grin grin

rosesarered Mon 23-Jun-14 20:38:29

This is so funny!

Ana Mon 23-Jun-14 20:39:40

It had me in tears of laughter earlier on, roses! grin

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 23-Jun-14 20:41:24

>> have you unblocked me now p? << sad

Anne58 Mon 23-Jun-14 23:14:48

Just popped in before going to bed, will definitely unblock you jingl grin

But at least we now know what happens.

Which would seem to be a little bit more than HQ do! Hope they have read back through and now see that the blocking thing is working fine.

They will probably have tech on it all night, without so much as a mug of Horlicks for sustenance...................
