I can't open the 'active' page. Can get to the forums, obviously but I have the active page pinned to start on my phone and it won't open sad

Julie, it went wrong suddenly, yesterday. I don't think it's anything to do with versions of Windows, and I'm certainly not faffing about changing things on my PC! hmm

I expect Tech are all off now until Monday - all right for some! grin

(Just seen your post, Julie)

Hmm, OK. I'm thinking can feel the cogs whirling around so I assume that's thinking Are you all on the mobile site?

Ana Fri 05-Sept-14 20:09:48

Wot? confused

JulieGransnet (GNHQ) Fri 05-Sept-14 20:13:25

Are you using a phone to use Gransnet, or a laptop/computer?

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 05-Sept-14 20:14:32

I'm not on the mobile site. I'm on my pc.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 05-Sept-14 20:14:53

Oh but I haven't got any trouble.

Sorry.

Ana Fri 05-Sept-14 20:15:21

Laptop. I don't use my phone for internetting.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 05-Sept-14 20:15:24

I could go on my Fire and try that. Hold on...

Ana Fri 05-Sept-14 20:17:52

No one could access the 'Active' page yesterday for a short while, then after Tech had fixed that, this other problem cropped up for some of us.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 05-Sept-14 20:18:24

It all looks alright on here. Not sure I know what the trouble was though. confused

Ana Fri 05-Sept-14 20:19:52

Read through the thread very slowly and carefully, jingl - a couple of us have made it as clear as we possibly could! grin

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 05-Sept-14 20:23:25

If being on kindle Fire means the poster is using the mobile site, then that's not the problem. Because I am. (Using a Fire that is. I'm not the problem.)

JulieGransnet (GNHQ) Fri 05-Sept-14 20:24:06

grin

Ok. One more, and I'm sorry if you've already said, but which browser and which version of it are you using? Like Windows 7 or Firefox? You don't need to answer if yours is working all fine and dandy wink

I can't preview a post either; pressing 'cancel' when that message comes up then going to 'active' seems to post it whether I have changed my mind or not!

You always help, jingle cupcake

It can often help if you clear your cookies (not the ones in the cookie jar, the ones on your PC). Have you tried that?

Ana Fri 05-Sept-14 20:28:29

Windows 7. And I'm not changing!

(Will obviously just have to live with it if that's really the problem...hmm)

Ana Fri 05-Sept-14 20:30:49

I'm very confused as to why it should be a problem at our end, when it happened, as I said, straight after the Active page blip...

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 05-Sept-14 20:31:19

I've got Windows 7 too. Don't change Ana. Windows 8 is not so good.

Ana Fri 05-Sept-14 20:32:35

Too true!

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 05-Sept-14 20:32:49

Thank you for the cake btw Julie smile

I'm gathering information before I grab tech. The more information he has, the quicker he can sort it. If there's a problem with some machines and not all, then it may not necessarily be down to the site. If all of the machines affected use windows 7, then it's likely to be a problem with this browser. See what I mean? Sometimes a change on our end can affect people's systems if they have not been updated. It's like your bank changing your cashpoint card. You can use your old one for a while until your bank changes something, then you need to use your new one this works in my head

rosequartz Fri 05-Sept-14 20:40:36

I did a full scan and virus check yesterday, and all cookies and browsing sites are deleted every time I close down.

It seems odd that Ana and I both have the same message that comes up each time we try to post.

Ana Fri 05-Sept-14 20:43:40

And as jingl's using Windows 7 as well, it doesn't seem to be that, Julie.
