Are we or are we not allowed to post on what we want as long as we stay within the guidelines? Or, now that the election is over, should we stop using the politics board? I'm very confused. Do the guidelines say anything about political discussion spoiling GN? Please advise

Anne58 Thu 14-May-15 18:17:39

My opinion will count for nothing, but I think that GN will benefit from a complete lack of post election/party political stuff for a while! grin

Anne58 Thu 14-May-15 18:18:30

By the way, that is sort of shorthand for "give it a rest FFS!"

GT. You're beginning to sound like a child who didn't get what they wanted for Christmas and just goes on and on and on until the parents give in for a quiet life. hmm

Only in this instance there can't be any change in the situation.

Yet another new thread from the 'We Was Robbed' brigade.

Note that although they are apparently allowed to say what they like, on any thread they choose, it seems that no one else is even allowed to raise the mildest of concerns as to whether the post-election tory-bashing is getting a bit wearing without being roundly insulted! hmm

True Phoenix - your opinion counts for nothing with me. Won't give it a rest - why should I? I just really don't understand why anyonr thinks we shouldn't be having political discussions? If you don't want to join in, you don't have to Merlot what is childish about wanting to discuss planned political changes?

merlotgran Thu 14-May-15 18:34:27

How many threads do you need, GT?

soontobe Thu 14-May-15 18:39:47

Personally, I dont see why they cant talk endlessly.
The site is not busy.
And we dont have to read any of the threads that we dont want to. Let alone contribute.
I knwo that the site does not allow preaching, but I dont think that they are preaching?

GrannyTwice Thu 14-May-15 18:41:25

Ana - Mollie and loopys posts were far from mild and what is we were robbed about discussing the implications about the eu referendum - the Governor of the Bof E has voiced concerns today about the potential damage of waiting to hold it .

GrannyTwice Thu 14-May-15 18:42:35

Soon - exactly! cupcake

loopylou Thu 14-May-15 18:47:06

Put anything vaguely political on the Politics thread, not chat, then the rest of us can enjoy 'chat' forum, PLEASE

what is we were robbed ? Since when GrannyTwice!

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 14-May-15 18:48:37

I don't somehow think we're gonna get any green background posts on this thread. Not unless it turns really bad! grin

rosequartz Thu 14-May-15 18:51:22

Witter away on whatever subject you like (within the guidelines).

We don't have to join in, it's not compulsory!!

magpie123 Thu 14-May-15 18:55:00

Perhaps HQ could offer post traumatic stress counselling for Labour supporters that might help some!

loopylou Thu 14-May-15 18:56:40

But please don't tell posters to F... O.. when you don't like the answer!

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 14-May-15 18:58:32

Ooh! That sounds interesting! grin

TerriBull Thu 14-May-15 19:02:54

Following on from The Gov of the Bank of England's concerns about the referendum he also has concerns about the number of EU migrants working in the UK which are holding down wages, ultimately not good for the economy seemingly. Which of his concerns should concern us the most hmm just wondering!

Elegran Thu 14-May-15 19:05:18

I second the suggestion that political "discussion" should be under the Political heading.

rosequartz Thu 14-May-15 19:06:13

I agree, Elegran

(Actually I never seem to notice the headings, but it would make sense)

magpie123 Thu 14-May-15 19:06:39

It's like groundhog day!

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 14-May-15 19:08:53

Carnie rejects migrant fears

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 14-May-15 19:09:38

Oh look. We're having a political discussion under 'Site Stuff' now! grin

Wheniwasyourage Thu 14-May-15 19:11:18

Another vote here for keeping politics to Politics threads. I'm fed up with it being all over the place and do not want to take part, as we will never agree and it just becomes unpleasant very quickly. Whatever we think about the recent election results, it's over and there's nothing we can do about it now.
