Hey GNHQ can we have a rugby ball for the Rugby World Cup please?????

Grannyknot Wed 16-Sept-15 22:52:23

Yes please! I'm very excited to be going to the SA vs. USA match at the Olympic Village.

Alea - great idea, we'll try bribe tech with some of LucyGransnet's courgette cake and see what we can do.

Grannyknot - I am VERY jealous! We didn't get a single game so have been entering every competition going hoping to win a ticket. Fingers crossed...

Heirofthedog Thu 17-Sept-15 11:22:03

Oh, I can't wait for the rugby! When I'm not busy with the new grandson that is grin
How do we think England's going to do? My money's on the All Blacks I'm afraid to say...

There's a bit of a furore up here with the ban on bagpipes! SonIL is threatening to take accordion instead but not sure how he'll smuggle that in!

petitpois Thu 17-Sept-15 15:39:29

Excellent, thanks for that Nonnie. Love it when they don't take themselves too seriously. I'll be watching and cheering too!

We have a houseful of DH's Welsh relatives (herein after known as The Taffia!) staying this weekend, so it is a given that the rugby will be on, whoever is playing, and throughout the tournament. I don't mind rugby so will probably watch some of it.

ninathenana Thu 17-Sept-15 16:54:44

We tried for tickets to envy
DH has a chart from last weekends paper with his chosen games marked off.
I do like rugby but ..........

merlotgran Fri 18-Sept-15 21:38:56

Just so long as it's over by 10pm then I can watch Gogglebox on +1

Grannyknot Fri 18-Sept-15 21:44:17

jings go and watch that really boring game "footie" then.

And if you come back on here and reply I will know that you are a closet rugby fan.

jane it's only the World Cup hosted right here in England for the first time in (I think) 23 years!

I enjoyed the opening ceremony, it was mildly bonkers. And I loved the crowd singing Sweet Caroline. Anyone know why they sing that particular song?

Charleygirl Fri 18-Sept-15 21:44:58

I believe that we have to tolerate it for the next 6 weeks. I cannot stand the game- tennis any day.

Ana Fri 18-Sept-15 21:45:39

Ooh, thanks, merlot, I'd forgotten that was on! smile
