It's lurkers' week! Join in to win!

I have occasionally posted - and yes Nannan2 I did read never posted before - but I got the impression GN was trying to be encouraging to us 'lurkers'.

I get the impression that this is a close knit community and it can feel a bit tricky to join in. I'm also a bit put off because I'm used to FB, being able to delete or edit my posts or replying to an individual comment without going as far as a private message. Anyway for what it's worth that's why I usually just 'lurk'.

To end on a positive note, I do look forward to receiving the Gransnet email on a daily basis.

I've been on this site for just over a year. I enjoy getting my gransnet email daily and looking to see what is going on in the forums. Not sure if I'm classed as a lurker, I do comment but not sure if others read.

Another "lurker" here , read the news letter everyday and enjoy all your comments . Not sure about adding my two pennith to any thread , but do like imagining what you all look like and where you live.

I am a regular reader but quite shy about posting. I enjoy the community feel of the forum.
I live near to the sea in Sussex. We lived in Yorkshire for twenty years but moved here to support my daughter who fled from domestic violence.

Another long time lurker here although I think I have posted twice! This is how I am in company, I’m very shy, love to listen to other people’s stories etc but don’t usually have much to say...I am a very good listener! I love reading all the posts every day..they are friendly, helpful, sometimes sad and often very amusing, and make me feel less lonely. I shall try and contribute more in future.

That's me then . When I joined I had one grandchild and now I have two with another due any day now. Will finally receive my state pension in July so that's another thing to look forward to.

Welcome all lurkers. Some may think that we who have "known" each other for years will leave you out of a "conversation" but that is not entirely true. Try Good Morning and Soop's kitchen threads- both places you will be warmly welcomed by extremely nice people. You will soon get to know folk and realise how really ill some of these people are and show remarkable fortitude.

We come from all walks of life and many will share their ex professional opinions and can really help others.

I’m a lurker but I have replied once or twice. I love the different opinions and I am fascinated how we all perceive things differently.

I 'lurk' in the main but have posted occasionally to 'join in' on a thread and also to ask for advice. I often feel that I've nothing of 'real' interest to offer to others and that my daily life is now quite mundane- but I'm happy with it!

I’m a lurker. Read the posts every day and find comments very interesting. I have 9 grandchildren aged 5 - 22. I think I commented on a post once, months ago.

Not a lurker and I rather love Gransnet. Interesting to see all the different points of view and lovely to see people helping each other if they have problems they're posting about. There are the occasional hissy fits too, just to ramp things up a bit - mostly because someone has taken something the wrong way. Without being able to see each other, it's relatively easy for things to get out of hand now and then!

I’m definitely a lurker, this is my first post. I have 2 grandsons, born 3 weeks apart to my 2 daughters. They’re 1 1/2 and I see and look after them both a lot, which is wonderful. I’d love to win a prize, as for various reasons I’ve been feeling a bit down lately and don’t feel I can talk to anyone about it.

Mick's "Good morning..." threads and Soop's kitchen are usually safe havens.
I can never keep up with all the names and who is doing what so I try to send a virtual ((hug)) to everyone regularly.

I'm definitely a Lurker look at GN every day some of the topics are very interesting sometimes things get a bit heated but we all have different options.

I am mainly a reader almost every day (does that make me a lurker?) but I do post now and then and started two or three threads. I love the Good Morning thread most of all but it is often afternoon when I get on.

Recent threads I really enjoyed were the ones about favourite songs from primary school and favourite authors when we were young.

Pretty soon after joining GN I won a book for the monthly book club, a hardback no less which was quite a thrill!!
