Royal threads hidden! ?

Hello all
A few days ago I hid the 'Royal Chat' thread, and the 'Lilibet' thread.

Yesterday I un-hid them and posted on the former, in fact I have just posted on it.

However - I can't see it in the Active list, or in the Trending list confused

They seem to have hidden themselves, but they aren't on my Hidden Thread list either!

Can everyone else see them?
Can you please comment below to say if you can / cannot see the two Royal threads mentioned?
Thank you!

I have made the point before that, having chosen to 'hide' a thread, I can't ever access it again.

For example, I hid this thread yesterday.
It no longer appears on any of the following - active, last hour, last day, forums.

The only way I could re-join this thread, it seems, is by either+
*waiting for it to emerge under 'trending' (as now)
*contributing before I hide
*add to watch list before I hide.

Otherwise it is lost, to me, for perpetuity.
Can Soniagransnet please advise?
Thank you!

Ah.
Having responded above, I cannot now add this to my watch list since I accessed the (hidden) thread via the trending list.

Farewell, dear thread!

FannyCornforth Wed 09-Jun-21 09:47:38

Ixion - I know how to do it on the mobile site
Where it says 'forums - games' or whatever - click on 'games' and your options will open.
Click on 'customise' and then scroll down.
Your hidden threads should be listed and then you can unhide them

I hope that this makes sense and that it works!

Fanny, it doesn't make sense if you're on a computer. I wonder if I accessed the site on a mobile and made the changes whether they would then show up on the computer? It seems the mobile site has features which are not available on a computer.

FannyCornforth Wed 09-Jun-21 10:35:23

Chestnut I looked on the computer site (see what I do for you!) and no, I couldn't see a way either.
I do much prefer the mobile site - far fewer ads to start with

Izabella Wed 09-Jun-21 11:13:31

We thought it was us. CH (IT consultant) says there is no way I can hide these pesky games and that the site has perhaps not been tested across all platforms.

lemsip Wed 09-Jun-21 22:10:13

I couldn't find it on my laptop so went to my history looked at yesterday and found it that way so it's still there

BlueBelle Wed 09-Jun-21 22:18:12

So how come as fast as I hide the games threads on the mobile ( as discussed previously) the next day they are back again
I ve Lilibet on my active list but I expect the other royal one has fallen off the top 50 threads

Callistemon Wed 09-Jun-21 22:21:42

Chestnut

Sonia - I can't see a red arrow to hide a thread. I'm on a computer and this is what I see. How can I hide a thread?

You're on the desktop site, Chestnut
I prefer that too, can't stand the mobile site.

We're just old-fashioned I think ?

Now, off to do a thread search

As I said, I couldn't see your response of 09.47 yesterday until I caught it appearing on 'Trending' as it was nowhere else to be seen?.
I then spent the rest of the evening investigating and experimenting as per your instructions and am now thrilled to say that I am pitch perfect!

It's clunky and frustrating to have to switch to the mobile site to do all that, but the good side is that you can click on any old thread to bring up the 'customise' option and all your previously 'hiddens' (mostly games for me and a couple of 'irksome' -to me!- threads) are displayed. You don't have to try to remember which forum the hidden thread might be in!

This has been a tremendous help and removes so much frustration for me.
Many thanks indeed!

FannyCornforth Thu 10-Jun-21 09:02:45

Oh glad that it made sense and worked! Thank you for letting me know ixion
Loving the word 'irksome', it's going to be my word of the day smile

BlueBelle Thu 10-Jun-21 09:06:08

BUT
If you use the mobile site you have to do all the clunky stuff but in reverse

Ooh, I really don't understand what you mean BlueBelle
I rarely use the non- mobile site

Just as a comment, my thread on the GP records data grab didn't appear in trending for a while, no matter who posted on it. I did contact GN and they came back and said it was probably just one of those things, and it did start reappearing after half a day. Technology will always have the upper hand grin

FannyCornforth Thu 10-Jun-21 09:16:37

Thanks B9, that's reassuring - I like the 'just one of those things' reply!
Much more candid!

mokryna Thu 10-Jun-21 09:21:07

What do you do with all the ads? I delete them but their cousins pop up.

FannyCornforth Thu 10-Jun-21 09:23:51

I don't know about that Mokryna
I know that others use something called adblock, but I can't get it to work

Callistemon Thu 10-Jun-21 09:46:51

Dont mention the ads mokryna.

No matter what I did, they keep coming back although not at the moment.
The result of my attempts was to mess up my email account completely.

Motto: don't meddle with technology
Technology will always have the upper hand!

Callistemon Thu 10-Jun-21 09:50:55

Oh, they're back! They must have realised I'm here and need a new kettle, a rucksack and an epilator.

Not.

FannyCornforth Thu 10-Jun-21 09:53:12

Callistemon grin
You need to get used to the mobile site!

BlueBelle Thu 10-Jun-21 10:11:43

fanny if you want to hide the games (or any thread) from your timeline on the mobile site you have to change over to desktop then do the rigmarole of little arrows and hide discussion then you have to change back to mobile site again

It seems those on mobile can only make these changes by changing to desktop AND
those on desktop have to go to mobile etc etc
It’s nonsense
And they come back anyway it’s a very clumsy way and I m sure there are more up to date technologies to hide a thread from your time.one Do you have to go through all that rigmarole on Mumsnet

maddyone Thu 10-Jun-21 10:18:25

You can always find threads you’re interested in by clicking on I’m on. It does mean you have to make a comment though, even if it’s a quite innocuous post.

Soniagransnet (GNHQ) Thu 10-Jun-21 10:33:02

Hi - just dropping in to say that you're welcome to report any games threads that aren't in the Games section - and we'll move them over. This will enable you to hide Games. flowers

FannyCornforth Thu 10-Jun-21 10:36:54

Sonia you can't hide whole sub-forums though

FannyCornforth Sun 13-Jun-21 09:10:18

The 'Royal Chat' thread isn't showing up again ?
